It's hard to say how much more stress, but there will def be added wear, I'm guessing I put 1.25" on all four corners and it helped get the 33's away from the frame up front for sure. Just make sure you go with a reputable brand with high quality studs
I've been having LBJ nightmares lately though, been looking at wheel-folded-under-the-front-fender threads too many times... its just grotesque..not really sure when mine were last replaced..could have been with the frame in '10, but I have no record to be sure...the drivers side is looking a little dark with leaked grease around the edges, but wheels are solid when pushed and pulled..

 

Oil changes just became so easy...


Now lets play, SPOT THE EXHAUST LEAK...

And finally I no longer need to use a hose clamp to keep my O2 sensor in place!

 

I have 4.88 and 35s and would never want 5.29 on the freeway. It does plenty good in the crawling stuff.

 

yea Im probably gonna replace mine when I do my CV boots even though I think they are alright. I'm pretty sure I'm still on the original set with 190k miles but those threads are always scary to read.. Ill probably end up getting a set of spidertrax and throw em on later down the road, thanks

 

Nooo. Did it for awesome torque and crawl speed. I almost never use brakes going den steep hills in 4lo 1st gear.

Why? I bet I get the same milage as you if not better. Our motors love higher rpms.

I'm suoer glad I didn't go the 4.88 route with 35s. For the rocky stuff I like the 5.29s win out big time.

Haha true. But before I basicaly bolted on a two thousand dollar anti power maker. I did damn good for a pig tacoma on 35s

 

I still think there has to be a pinched seal or some linkage not adjusted quite right causing a boost leak, it just doesn't make sense.

 

Yea I've just left it for now. Gotta get my other truck ready

Cruising 80 I'm way over 3k rpm. I get 15mpg right on the dot, and that ls with a lot of wot runs lol. Lasting me I did a long freeway trip I got 17mpg. I've had no problem with these gears on technical trails, but 5.29 would be nice for that.
