Any word about lower light levels jumping back in to game with the new DLC? I was playing this allot and quit pretty abruptly last October right before I completed the kings fall raid. I'd like to get back into destiny but to my own fault I played to much and got sick of the grind.

It's a pseudo-MMO so it will be a grind either way. That is the premise of the entire game.

 

Patch notes now out. Lot of sniper changes for PvP and the Touch of Malice now longer carries Blessings of Light when you step out of the bubble. Should make the Oryx fight fun now

Just because you have trouble with it doesn't mean it's not fun.

I'll post it again. Looks like we are having plenty of fun just dancing around and goofing off and STILL completing it with no problem

If you honestly think the new raid isn't going to be challenging (read hard) then you picked the wrong game my friend. This game is all about teamwork and having a group of people that know what they are doing (as with any MMO). I DO NOT want it to be easy. I want it to be hard and hard to figure out. If you want something that is just given to you with very little challenge I hear Hello Kitty Online is still active.

 

You guys are obviously pro KF and thats great. Its not easy to put together a team of people willing to run hard mode. I at least made it to Oryx with 3 different groups over the course of a week on hard.

I said nothing about wanting it to be easy. I just said it wasnt fun. It would be much more fun if i had a solid group of 6.

For the record, im the guy who starts games on harder difficulties, that can be proven in my cheevos.

Most recently i rented Doom and started it on Ultra violence mode. That is one step under nightmare which gives you 1 life for the entire game. I just got back to Hell and getting ready for the first major boss, the missle throwing minitour and then the queen.

 

Once again... Do what I did and find a group of people that you like playing with. Don't take yourself (or others) too seriously and just have fun with it. Do not play with ragers or anyone that expects perfection. It doesn't happen overnight but it will happen. The fight "is" fun. You just haven't had good luck with the people you play with. That said... If you think anything is going to change with the new raid (without the recommendations I made) then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. If you think we are just going to burn through the raid our first time you are mistaken. We will learn the mechanics and finish the raid on our own time and schedule. Will we get it down fast? Dunno. But we will have fun doing it which it "sounds" like you haven't done. The new raid will be hard and will require just as much teamwork as TTK. And, I suspect you will be back in here saying the same thing that you are saying about TTK because you can't easily finish it with randoms.

It won't be easy so find yourself a good group to play with. If you don't follow that advise you are setting yourself up for failure. JMO

 

Ive got 2 other solids that i play with, thats it. We will see how it goes once i get the ToM and my defender finished.

 

Well.... It seems that ToM isn't going to be as effective since the new patch and it no longer accepts Blessings of Light as soon as you leave the bubble. Get your snipers ready to take down the ogres lol

 

I currently use rockets and hammers. We usually have 2 Titans, 1 defender on hammers. It alowed me to clear the adds quickly on daughters.

 

Whatever works for you. The Daughters is a completely different fight. As long as you are standing in the Aura your ToM will be fine for taking down the Daughters. I was talking about popping a bubble in the middle for the Oryx fight. Pop in and out of the bubble with the ToM with blessings to burn the ogres down. That will no longer be the case.

 

The daughters are easy as long as you have people that can get the relic within 28-30 secs. Probably the fastest fight in the raid. Hammers will do nothing in the Oryx fight since they don't last long enough.
