Long time lurker first time poster. Picked up a b red 16 off road and curious as to if anyone has cut foam to install into the compartment under the back seats. I have 2 truck guns. A 9mm and ar pistol and would love to have them locked in that compartment secured in foam. Any help for the noob would be appreciated.

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
If you are going that route I suggest using our looking into blocks of Kaizen Foam. It is designed for that kind of stuff. Me personally I like my gun on my hip at all times.

A gun located under the rear seats is practically useless when needed.

Better option might be a Console Vault or Lockerdown that fits in the center console and within reach.

If you remove the plastic sub-dividers behind the rear seat, there is plenty of room to store a standard sized AR, in a soft case complete with optics and mags. You can get to it by leaning the driver's side rear seat forward and pulling the entire case out. Actually, there's room back there for the AR and a full length shotgun in a separate case and neither rattle or slide at all. Completely out of sight, accessible, and doesn't cost a dime.

Keeping the sidearm where you can get to it quickly is a different story and there are all kinds of solutions for that based on preference.

I definitely keep a handgun in reach. While I'm not a super prepper getting ready for a nuclear war followed by a zombie apocalypse, I do believe in being prepared. Having a 72 hour bag, a good medical kit, and a couple guns for a worst case scenario. That being said this isn't for quick access as much as just being locked up and away from thieves.

I have one of these and the best money can buy. My buddy is a detective, the thieves stole a truck, they didn't have time to get in this vault, the guy got back his gun and $3000 dollars!
