So..... dakars..... do they add more travel with longer shocks and brake lines? And does taking a leaf out make them shit?

 

Id love to hear your opinion on the Ozark Trail cooler.

I still have the dakars, mine are tall and stiff. But with a few hundred lbs in the bed they rode like a Cadillac. They definitely sqeeked too. I've seen pics with shackle flips and they seem to droop really well. If I run them again I will use longer shocks and see how well they droop. But with only 2.5" up front and no weight they will be raked. Mine have the - and 0 markings.

I can sit or stand on it, don't care if it keeps ice for more than a day and it wasn't 400 bucks.

Only issue I've heard about is the lid straps breaking. I'll keep mine coated in 303 and it should help with the sun breaking down the rubber. If they break the manufacture has been warranting them without question.

The lawsuit is over the cups, but I don't know if Yeti invented them or Engle. They've been in litigation with Rtic too.

 

And I'm drinking a screwdriver out of an Ozark tumbler as I type this.

That's what I'm thinking according to the Dakar height thread if I take out the 3rd leaf it should drop about an inch. Maybe even ride a bit softer unloaded. I don't haul to much weight often

 

I think they are suing r-tic also.

 

I added a few pictures in my galley of them on the truck. They gave about 2.75 after settling. I had to crank the front up over 3 to be level unloaded. It rode like crap. lol. The pics are with a 32.8" or so tire. Removing the leaf might be the ticket. I'm actually in the process of re lifting my old truck again,I have used set of all-pro standards that I picked up that I want to try first. I'm going for a capable nice ride this time,Fck the height.

 

Let me know how the standards do for you height wise. I've heard they ride good. I wouldn't want to take a leaf from those but also wouldn't want to sit ass high. I know @xweslingx had them before the chevys but I don't think ge had a clue on how much height he gained.... or do you wes? they are supposed to give more lift than the dakars but have less hauling capacity so I'm lost on what to get....

 

Why because they sell for half or .25 the cost and last the same if not longer. Lol

Keep in mind I have small 265 tires in the pics but you can see how the dakars make the truck sit with the OME kit at 3" in front and maybe 3.25-3.5 rear...no leafs taken out. I think they ride fine.

 

I still have my dakars with my icons set at about 2.5" front and I guess the rear would still be around 3.25-3.5 so I have a little more rake now but it's fine cause with stuff loaded in the bed or hauling I rather be level than nose high with a stupid bro lean
