So...I work at a apartment as a maintenance guy. I loaded a ladder in the bed of my truck to change some exterior light bulbs. I set up the ladder and changed the exterior lightbulb. Only takes a few minutes.

I come down to my truck...and see this dumba$$ lady spray painting a headboard outside her garage about 5 ft right behind my brand new $35k 2016 Tacoma. NOT 10 or 20 feet, literally 5 ft right behind my truck.

I said Whoa Whoa, hey, let me move my truck! She looks at me cluelessly like Wut..? and kept spray painting. I quickly moved my truck and cussing up a storm if I got spraypaint on my new truck.

Fortunately the wind was blowing in the right direction and blew the paint mist away from the truck. I thought I was gonna dropkick that woman. :annoyed:

Btw that imbecile woman did not use a drop cloth or cardboard to prevent overspray on the ground or the wall behind it.

I seen alot of idiot drivers and try to avoid them. I usually park far in the back away from others to avoid door dings, then come back out 5 min later and there's a car parked on each side of my truck even though there were like 5 open parking spaces on each side of my truck.

Let me hear your storie's of really stupid people doing stupid shit too close to your new truck.
    :cheers::popcorn:

It's a fairly nice apartment, still though, not cool.

This happened with my old ride, but I park in an underground parking garage. I come down to my car one day and a dad has his two kids throwing a lacrosse ball around...

In the garage, with lots of cars. One of his kids missed catching the ball right as I came out and the ball got dangerously close to hitting my ride.

The look on my face must have clued this idiot in, because he apologized and told his kids to pack it up. I checked my car out in front of him and shot him one last "wtf m8" look while they sheepishly put their gear back in their trunk.

My second apartment after college, where I paid an extra $50/mo to park my brand new MZ3 under cover (not a garage, but a big carport), the guy literally in the space next to me began spray painting his entire 15-yr-old Subaru Outback during a two-week span, one month after I moved in. Needless to say, the apt complex mgmt got several phone calls.

About 2 months ago, I pulled in a gas station and saw this moron smoking a cigarette while pumpin gas. I drove by him, gave him thumbs up and said "That's real smart". He smiled and waved. I went to a different gas station and just couldn't believe how stupid...like seriously?

Mercifully, overspray that has just landed is actually very easy to wipe off- at least with a good number of spray paints.

This is why when I painted my hubs the other day, I immediately followed up with a check & wipe down of suspect areas.

Even though I had masked off a bunch, overspray always finds a way, it's more tenacious than you can imagine:

One wipe with a microfiber & some waterless wash later:

It has this odd intermediate state like dry erase marker or something, almost like it becomes a powder. If you leave it though, it will bond.

I figured the specks of paint can be wiped off from the paint. But the specks of white paint will not come off the black plastic such as the top of your tailgate which was dropped down, the black plastic on the rear bumper, the black liner in the bed, bed rails, tires, window trims, etc etc.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I hate idiot people doing things next to my 4 year old truck I've beat the shit out of. We value the stuff we pay for, other people don't value the stuff we pay for.

    Welcome to real life.

I worked at a farm supply store when I was in high school. We had a propane filling tank and a shack where the valve was. On a really rainy day one guy that was working with us was smoking a cigarette out there while a he waited out a heavy rain squall. He didn't work there for much longer.

I need my job and it pays good. This happened at work. I wanted to check for overspray first before I react. But yeah if it wasn't at work, I woulda not been nice about it. If she did get overspray on it, you bet I make her ass pay for it either way.

I used to paint houses for a living - paint can come off of almost anything with the right solvent expecially if it hasn't had much time to cure. That said one guy I worked with oversprayed a brand new black Jetta with white oil based primer - company had to pay $130 detail charge after that.

Years ago, I did work at a apartment that was getting painted, they covered the cars in the parking lot, you can see a bunch of guys, ladders, paint equipment, cars covered. Well...this dumba$$ pulls up in a new black Dodge Ram SRT, I believe has Viper V10 motor, parked in front row next to covered cars. It got overspray everywhere. Big specks all over. I had nothing to do with it and mind my business but shame. That's a nice truck.

I did have a freshly painted 95 Nissan 240sx turbocharged with lots of mods. I only take it on roads I know, parked very far away, and refuse to park in crowded places. It was garage kept and never seen rain. After awhile I got tired of guarding it and sold it before something happens. Sure enough, like a month after I sold it, a F350 backed into it hard in the parking lot and smashed the front end...so sad cause I did all the work to it.

I currently live in a mediocre apartment complex and I swear, every afternoon I wake up the asshat with his beat to shit 2013 challenger parked inches away from me. Why? Because he's too fucking lazy to park in his assigned spot 10 spaces away and likes to park in front of the firehydrant no parking zone.

My girlfriend always give me shit for parking so far away from other people but it's nice to see other people value their purchases as much as I do. Luckily i live on 5 acres way out west of town, because people suck, so if anything happens it'll be because of my dumbass lol
