HI/LO combo w/shield seems to be the most popular. What does the shield do?

mainly it keeps the light output pointed at the road and helps to not blind other motorists

Thanks. That makes sense, I had a feeling it was to keep the light controlled, just wasn't sure for what purpose. I change my preference!

Interested here:popcorn: 2nd gen best option with the guard and hi/lo

Are they going to have heat-sinks only? Or fans? Herd some bad things about cheap fans failing and what not.

Well guys here it is. Installed our new and improved ones today. These have the glare guards with the high/low beam. These are SWEET the install literally takes 5 min and they are super bright during the day time we took these pictures with our iPhone camera (so not the best quality) . (Will post night shots tonight) here is a side by side of stock and the new light. I will take a photo tonight showing the output. I left a stock headlight still in so you can see the difference at night. We have a few TW members testing these and should have them ready to rock and roll in a few weeks. Let us know what you think!
