    Morning, faceholes.

TFGIFFF. These short weeks suck. I like the long weekend, but then you come back and the bosses expect 5 days' worth of productivity out of a 4 day week.

Ouch, hopefully the rest of your week started looking up!

Projects like this, I wish I was hourly like some of you guys. I'm absolutely buried with work, pulling stupid hours and my paycheck is the same whether I slack off and work 30 hours or 80 hours :bananadead:

But, you get to make up for it with those days that you can cut out early because you're caught up, without taking a hit. :notsure:

GF is salaried, and she bitches about it whenever she has to work late. But she's also usually out by 1 on Fridays, lol.

I wouldn't take a salary job at my work. ill stick with my 3day work week making the same money they make in 60hour a week.

I went salary about a year ago and the company I'm with tries to make up for the loss wages for overtime. We have quarterly bonuses that are paid as a % of your quarterly pay. The hourly people have 75% of their pay bonus eligible, while salaried people have 100% bonus eligible.

Yeah... when I get one of those, I'll let you know! That said, there are perks to being salaried. If I have to cut out a little early to go to a doctor appointment or come in a little late because my kids had a rough morning or night, I don't put that crap on my timesheet. Also, with construction, you'd be a fool to negotiate your salary thinking you're going to work 40 hours a week. I knew I'd be working 50+ pretty standard and negotiated my salary accordingly. It all evens out in the end if you do it right.

Woke up to a hard drive failure on my desktop @ home this AM.

I managed to get in after waiting and waiting and waiting for it to boot, so I'm sitting here putting everything I don't have backed up onto flash drives as I found out I've still got a warranty. Luckily I backed up all of our wedding photos on a separate flash drive last week.

    /first world problems.
