Recently, I purchased and installed a camper shell and immediately saw my icon progressive 3leaf aal squat somewhat.

I am most likely going to put back in the stock overload leaf which was removed during aal install. Where exactly does the overload leaf go in my aal leaf pack?

At the very bottom. Buy unless you springs now are flat or slightly negatively arched, that factory overload won't do anything for the sag. Instead it will make your ride harsh when your suspension compresses and then comes into contact with essentially a brick wall.

 

Thanks Jon. They are not negative, not even flat just more on the flatter side then they were before the camper shell. I lost my rake and want it back asap. No gangsta leaning over here

Maybe adding in the extra leaf for a Dakar pack would help you. Would add a bit ID weight carrying capacity to you current set up. Let me grab mine and see where it lines up with the stock pack

$74 D29xl Old Man Emu Dakar Extra Leaf Spring

D29xl leaf flatten out about half way. My guess is that that will take care of your sag but might make your rear too stiff. And looks like they will go from spring eye to spring eye with stock springs. I had to lay the leaf in inverted because my stock non-TSB springs are negatively arched like a mofo

I was a bit occupied last night and today. Just now caught up. Seems the method that Greg mentioned is looking like the method to go with. But I will spray the bolts needed for both methods just in case. I may In regards to tools needed for both methods, I don't have air tools, but the neighbor does have an electric impact he'll let me borrow. I believe I have blue loctite on hand but no paint pen. I can pick that up today. My jack and jack stand are the cheap 2 Ton set from Vatozone I've had for some years now. I should pick up the taller & stronger ones from HF since I've been meaning to anyway. I have some 75W90 left from but I'll probably need another quart, so I will pick that up as well and I've got a drain pan.

I have a stupid question about Jersey vehicle inspections. Since I bought my truck back in 2014, and they put a four year sticker on it(somehow sold it as new despite being 30 months old?), I still have over a year before needing to get inspected. Do they do a visual check for all emissions equipment, or just a sniff test. And am I correct in assuming that the only thing checked anymore is emissions? This is the first vehicle I have had registered in NJ in many years, so am unfamiliar with the changes.

 

You're correct in that they only bother with emissions now. No safety check. Here's what they did when I got my truck inspected this year. They unscrewed my gas cap and screwed it back on. Then they plugged into the OBDII port and checked for the readiness of my systems and for DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes). As long as your MIL (malfunction indicator light aka check engine light) is not lit, you are allowed 1 system to not be "ready". If you have more than 1 not ready, you will fail. If you only have 1 not ready or all are ready, then you will pass if they don't read any pending DTCs.

That's it. They did not sniff my tailpipe (though I saw a car in the next lane get sniffed, so I don't know how that is determined). They also didn't hook my gas cap onto one of those colored things to test that it's working. I guess it's obsolete on OBDII vehicles, since a bad cap will trigger a DTC anyway?
