    None :-((. Yet :-))
So what is the consensus on the Toytec 2.5 boss Lift kit. Is this a good kit, or mediocre kit. The price point seems to be in line with higher end kits King being the exception, but I don't see a lot of love for Toytec on this site. It seems that Gen 2 guys had a lot more effection for the Boss lifts then the 3rd gen guys do. Just looking for opinions

Are you just trying to get the best alignment numbers? or worried about clearance issues?

I waited on my UCA's for a couple years but bumping up to 295's i needed to push the tire forward to get me away from the cab mount area so the tires don't rub horribly off road, this is why i went with SPC UCA's. To answer your question you could get away with out getting UCAs for a bit most likely but depending on what tire size you end up with will determine how much plastic fender you need to trim. You will probably end up taking your front mud flaps off as well

I have 265/75/16 KOs and will not go larger anytime soon. So just curious more about alignment since clearance is fine.

^^ you should be completely fine without UCA's ^^^ Will new ones help get you better alignment numbers sure but not necessarily needed with the lift purchase

I had the same thought after seeing @Jgchfd post. call me a noob, but running stock UCA's for a while won't hurt the truck in any way will it. Don't have/feel like saving up the additional 500 to add UCA's to this kit...

nope, won't hurt at all. If the alignment tech is good he should be able to get you pretty well set back to factory. I ran my truck for 2-3 years before upgrading to SPC UCA's with zero problems and no funky tire ware.

That's good to know! How important are the remote reservoirs?

I am looking to do the Boss 2.0 kit with the 2" add a leaf option (rear) and the additional 1'' of lift. Contemplating the reservoirs...UCA's will be done later for sure. Sound like a good set up?

the BOSS 2.0 rear AAL option sounds like the way to go for you

From what you and i discussed on PM i wouldn't think you would need the resi's the BOSS 2.0 would be plenty good for what you wanted to use the truck for. AAL is a great way to start and in the future you might end up just upgrading the rear leaf pack because toyota leafs are known to sag and flatten out.

Did you measure your preload setting? I'm at about 1" right now, but feeling like I could go a little higher. I don't want to crank them too high though. I want the ride height set before I align it. Thanks.

I have a boss kit, and I like it a lot. However, I noticed my rear end on the drivers side is lower than the passenger. Thoughts? I have an AAL. Maybe a new leaf pack??

its because of the gas tank, it causes the left side of our trucks to sit slightly lower.

I just measured 22.5" on both sides. How many more turns of the adjustment do you think will get me another 1/2"? 2?

Get the fronts to 23" (center of hub - bottom of fender) that's the magic number from what I've always been told

Well I took it to dealer and they said because it was lifted it needed a "zero point calibration" and wanted to charge $62. They were not able to recreate noise but thought it was related to ABS triggering due to the lift. RSG Offroad was recommended by Toytec to evaluate ( they happened to be the guys who aligned it for me anyway.) Drew and Jason at RSG are awesome by the way. They "reset the yaw" and rechecked my alignment without charging me. I was really hoping this would take care of the problem. Two days later on a simple right turn, same grinding noise. This took me by surprise because I have turned at this location without any issues before. I need to try again at that same turn and look at my dash to see if traction control or ABS is firing.

Can anyone tell me, is resetting the yaw and zero point calibration the same thing? Toyota tech was trying to make it sound like other places may not have proper equipment to do it. I watched RSG and it was simply plugging into computer and hitting a few buttons to pair up with the 16 Tacoma. If it is a different process, perhaps I should pay the $62 and have Toyota do it for me.

Gonna pull the trigger on the Toytec 2" lift. How do you find an install shop for Toytec?

you can contact Toytec and they will let you know authorized dealers. I had my broker set up install for me. He had primarily worked with lifting Jeeps before and had not used Toytec yet. He had to set up an account with Toytec in order to get it.
