I think I am going to try and find a stainless steel bolt and completely do away with my antenna.

 

I like this. I've never heard my reception on the radio once since I've owned it. Not even with the stock antenna

 

I have a satellite radio receiver that has a lifetime subsription so I never listen to any local radio stations. I couldn't even tell you what frequency my local stations are on.

 

I was thinking of mcgivering the threaded stem from my off road antena and put a stainless acorn nut on it with a rubber spacer but decided to go this route.

 

I'm going w/ gunmetal myself to match grill surround

 

I de-badged awhile back and still had the TACOMA badge sitting on a shelve in the garage. I ran across someone else that did this but can't remember who it was. I cut the letters apart, sanded and painted them.



I looked down and noticed the mileage. It's not really a milestone




But is the same when up-side-down.

 

I am going to go to a hardware store and see what I can come up with. I like the idea about the acorn nut.

Getting my CMC plates welded on tomorrow morning before wheeling Sunday I know there are plenty of guys who run them open, but the idea of that sketches me out.

Ended up going to a random run down hole in the wall welding and custom fab shop, but the guy has like 40 years in the field, so I think I'm in good hands.

 

Oh yea i too have .. 40 years in the feild.
