Hey I just bought an 01 tacoma, wasn't aware of the big rust problem when I bought it. I had looked at the frame through the wheel wells (pic) and it looked fine but today after looking on here for a different issue I learned of the rust. Is this something to be concerned about? I think its more on the underside of the bed maybe and theres only that hole on the passenger side rear(pic). Thanks, any input helps

Doesn't look too bad really, a lot better than many people on here. Just keep an eye on it, especially if you live up north!

I have same problem. My frame is in perfect condition but my bed is rusted through at those supports. Theres reall no good way to reinforce/weld it without taking bed off.

Sand/grind the rust off then paint over it. That's about all you can do to stop spreading.

I would spray fluid film or rust check. I have never had good luck with covering up rust with paint. You'll never sand all that rust off.

    Your frame looks like new!
