hey guys, its mike from ohio! (the only guy besides gid to bring his woman to LBL last march) I finally got my lift installed and I'm chomping at the bit to go test it out, this summer has been insanely busy so not much off roading or exploring.... but I'm planning on exploring LBL some more next weekend if anyone wants to come along

also - post lift I've got a hollow clunking noise on the front passenger corner. its only over rough road or pot holes at in town driving speed, can't hear it on the interstate - possibly because of road noise or just smoother road, I'm not sure. does NOT happen while trying to flex on something big though (slow speed, and more shock travel). everything is torqued correctly, and no noticeable contact anywhere. it may be the cam bolts on the lower control arms (i'll be doing some inspecting of those this weekend before getting another alignment done) I had some trouble on the first alignment with the cam bolts not cooperating on that side. I saw on @Crom's build where he pulled them and greased them, so I might try that. any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! :D

Check your skid plate (assuming it's factory). Happened to me and @rngr where the skid plate was bent enough to where it was hitting the cam

Oooo yea. I forgot about that one. If it's touching, it's clunking.

it was rattling up against the sway bar after LBL. a dead blow hammer got it back into shape  ... but it's off the truck right now while I'm diagnosing this clunk and dialing in my alignment. the sound is louder with the windows up, so its resonating though the frame/body... (and its more like a hollow "clunk." there's no noticeable metallic "clang")

Welcome back!!! My UBJs make a nice clunk when they are going bad. They are the SPC Light Racing UCA'S and due to my 3+" lift they fail every so often for like, no reason.

When you say the LR UCA'S fail often, whats that like and how can I mitigate that? I just put some on a few days ago, I thought with the zerk fitting they should last awhile?

LCA bushings? I had a clunk similar to what you're saying. Taped my
Phone inside my fender well and drove. You could clearly see excessive play in the LCA front to back.

What up dude! The clunk noise is 1 of 2 things: either your lca bushings are bad or its your coilovers either fully extending or the valving being too stiff. How much lift are you running? You said the noise occurs while just driving over roads, what about over a speed bump? Is there a specific moment when it occurs? Like always when compressing the suspension or always when extending? Or is it just constant? If one of the cams was seized and you broke it free, it's a good assumption that bushing is bad. My first guess is lca bushings. You can rule out the coilover by doing as I suggested and driving over a speed bump just fast enough to where you can pop the front end over and extend the suspension fully

I had a bad clunk after an alignment. Clunked at stop & take off and over speed bumps. A bolt on the LCA was not tightened. Took it back, now no more clunking. Before I put on the 6112s my Radflos clunked a lot.

It's not the product, it's my setup. I am hyper extending my upper ball joints due to having around 4" lift in the front using coilovers and top plate spacer. Going to fix it soon, I promise :fingerscrossed:

For those living the Middle Tennessee area: Thoughts or reviews on the guys at Tennessee Offroad? I'm about ready to add a lift to my truck, probably the Toytec lift with progressive leaf springs and not really finding anyone in the Nashville area who specifically does this type of work.

    Here's a link to their website: http://4xaddict.com

    And the obligatory FÜkBook page:

I haven't dealt with them in a long time, and only ever bought parts from them, but they definitely get really mixed reviews. Why not just do it yourself?
