i don't have anything against a RL, and if it suits someone's needs and creature comforts, then by all means buy what you like and need. I am not visually attracted to the RL, and I can't pay for something I can't even stand to look at, but others like its look. I love the looks of the taco (minus the braces), and the functionality, size, and comfort suits me just fine, so I am happy to pay for something I love to drive and look at. I also like the availability of aftermarket mods to personalize my truck, but mostly it suits me just the way it is. Some like a plushy carlike truck to occasionally haul stuff, some like full size rigs, but I like my midsize Toyota 4x4 the best. I do enjoy the banter back and forth in these threads though, the humor is great to break up a rough day.

This is what the ride line reminds me of....

    Ridgeline

    The good
4x8 sheet of plywood lays flat.
An El Camino for the masses who need bed space once in a while
Great for a soccer mom. Speakers in the bed, kids can get ready while listen to music
Storage compartment in bed would make a great cooler.

    The bad
    Not body on frame.
    Front wheel drive
4x8 sheet lays flat, but bed is shallow
It does look alot like a minivan (expected something a bit different
Not sure, but I believe tire selection and aftermarket support will be very little and take time to develop
Did I mention the El camino, minivan look
Storage compartment in bed becomes unusable once bed loaded.
You tricked me into posting in a repeat thread

What's funny is if your were to mate the two it would look like a Hilux. Something all the 2nd gen guys wanted when the 3rd gen was introduced.

I haven't looked into this, but, say you have 1500 lbs in your bed and you get a flat. Are you actually going to lift your truck this way and change the tire or are you emptying the bed anyway? I can't remember what the manual says on this if anything at all.

Personally, I'd never buy one even though we have had Accords since 1990 and honestly never had one single problem with any of them. I always wished Honda would have done a truck right.

Good question. I just glanced in the Tacoma manual and it says nothing about whether or not you have a load. Probably be a good idea to have a jack base along though just to help prevent the jack from sinking.

Personally, my loads are more bulky than heavy. Furniture, home-improvement debris, brush/tree trimmings, etc. Still a smart thing to double check.

yeah the one with the white walls is the way to go- do you speak Uzbek? I think the forum devoted to this model is only published in that language and I hear it is almost as good as TacomaWorld- good luck with the mods!
