Somewhere is a "hot air" joke just waiting to come out.

My Dad used to get icing like that in his ford, always thought it was from all the coffee he spilled in there.

Ice on the inside happens from water your body puts out in perspiration and from normal breathing. To clear it out turn the AC on even if the heat is set to hot, it'll dry out the air in the cab and prevent it from happening.

Yeah except I think his is developing from overnight which means moisture has built up somewhere in the cab.

That's gnarly! We had a blower motor the other day with baby mice in it. Kind of a miceburger consistency....

That sounds like warranty b.s. where we don't get paid anything.... head on down to groove to see Brian for that:bananadead:

I hear this a lot and will agree to disagree with you...Remember, I'm older and in my day not all vehicles came with AC....

Case in point, not all vehicles come with AC.
Vehicles with no AC do not have this problem with excessive fogging inside the glass any more than vehicles with AC do.
The excessive fogging or icing on the inside of the glass is caused by water vapor, as you pointed out, from the breathing of the occupants inside the cab.
Turning the HVAC controls to pull in outside fresh air will prevent the fogging or icing. It's really just that simple.

It may have happened overnight for him, prolly from leaving the vent controls closed.
But in his pic, the dash lights are on, so I bet it happens while he's driving too. My money is on having the fresh air turned off. I see cars all winter long with fogged up windows. People think by having it on recirculate that the air will heat up quicker, not true. That little feature is for keeping the dust out and for more efficient use of AC, if you have it. :D

I'm well beered right now so that may not have come across very well.

So if the Tech doesn't get paid for warranty work, are those usually done by a rookie or apprentice @lotsoftoys ?
