that reminds me I had a stank ass turkey vulture spot me in the woods and what does that nasty creature do?? It flys right above me and takes a dump! Lucky for me the wind carried it over just enough to miss me. I stood up and made some noise and it flew off...

I also saw a huge forker...his antlers almost went straight up and touched in the middle, prob had 2" diameter bases...I couldnt shoot him because the military hunting area I was in was a 3 points on one side or more...this had 2 on each!

I've got a 2007 Bear Element with a 60 lb draw. I bought it when it went on clearance as a year old model when I was working at Dick's Sporting Goods. I only paid $125 for it! I have been wanting to move up to a 70 lb draw, but I have become really attached to his bow over the last 8 years. I haven't had an issue with it yet, so I don't see the sense in going out and spending more money to fix something that isn't broken.

Good for you, fight the influencers. Ted Nugent shoots only a 50 pound bow, and he's probably killed more animals than everybody on this fourm put together

I know I'm late to this but I wear my binos, range finder and calls and with the strap thing I use they all fall right on my chest. I shoot year round with them like this at 3D's and never have any problems. Where I hunt there's a mixture of both wide open and trees and dead fall so thick you don't even wanna walk. Binos make it so much nicer to spot stuff across a canyon or multiply canyons, which is totally stalkable.
I also wear my backpack because it'd be dumb to not too, you pretty much have to be an idiot to get lost in the mountains in my area but it happens. Sure would be a lot nicer to have something to eat and start a fire with.

You could always just buy new limbs if you really wanted to go to 70, than you could just switch back and forth if you wanted to.

Came back early. Got within 40 yards on a 5x5 Bull, and 3 cows. But I couldn't get a clean shot on any of them and the wind ended up getting me every time. Can't wait for next weekend. Hopefully I can get a decent shot.

I had what I call a rare encounter...went out scouting looking for moose (my wife got a bull moose draw tag) Well since july Ive seen 5 bulls near where we hunt. Last night I saw my 5th bull this year. That was neat in itself, then my neighbor and I went cruising around the trails and stopped at a good vantage point. Typically I see deer across the valley, lo and behold a nice black bear...prob 2,000+yards...in my life time I havent seen many black bears period, its neat to see them but I wish they would get on my bait I have set up...they truly are a challenge to hunt.

I lost a broad head and insert to a tree after I missed a cow.

I was shaking so bad I couldn't get a good range so I shot for 40, was probably at like 25 or something. I guess a miss is better than a bad hit.

I love the area out here but hate the people. I'm originally from around Eire PA and up there if it's legal you shoot it. It's taken me 4 years not to shoot the first thing that walks by and tears me up every time I do it

 I've seen some shakes guys on YouTube and heard of far worse misses. Shaking from holding to long, or just excited to get a shot? A miss is better than tracking a bleeding animal for 8+ miles until it finally dies.
