If you had to choose between a Chevy Silverado or a GMC Sierra which would you trade in for?

I hear Toyota makes a pretty solid truck, can't remember what it's called though...

    ...Tacoma?

Really though, if you want a V8 I'd look at platinum tundras if you can afford a Sierra. Fuck GM.

I totally agree with you about the Tundra being a better truck. But that gas mileage though??

They're the same. Which looks better to you? Good, now go buy a Japanese truck.

Gm full size trucks are as rock solid a it gets. Don't let their lesser vehicles fool you.

Id go sierra. You know they do like 20% of sales from time to time. I damn there pulled the trigger on a 52k msrp sierra for
38k. I'd wait for that if you really want it.

Callaway silverado. Probably still better gas mileage than the 4.0 v6.

If you enjoy the bathtub curb of GM quality, so be it. I wouldn't choose either, I'd take a Tundra.

I like the GMC Sierra looks over the Chevy Silverado.

Cousin recently got one. Sweet looking and driving truck. They had something like 10-12k off on them. For him, it was a no brainer.

The Sierra will have a hands down better ride and interior quality over the Silverado. Go with the Sierra if you have the money.

Which ever meets your eye that you can buy the cheapest.

And don't trade. You'll get real money selling outright.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I'd go Sierra for one good reason: look at the wheel wells of both and you'll see the Sierra has a plastic protective trim around the edge that the Silverado doesn't. My Silverado started chipped the paint and rusting right there despite the mud guards. I can't believe the new Silverados don't have that upgrade yet. Look at older ones on the road and see where the rust is. All around the wheel wells.

And yes my 2008 5.3L v8 Silverado got better gas mileage than my 2014 4.0 v6 Tacoma. So very disappointing...but I still like my Tacoma better despite that fact.

I had a 1998 Chevy half ton for a decade before getting the Tacoma. It was a good truck. I like my Tacoma better but they are apples to oranges. I don't need a full size right now, but if I was looking again, I might take a good look at the Nissan Cummins.

I bought a 2016 Sierra Denali and love it. A step up in styling from the Chevys. And the little touches like the plastic around the wheel wells to help prevent the infamous wheel well rust lots of trucks suffer from made it stand out. Either one will be good though. I haven't had any issues with mine.

What kind of deal did you pull with you Denali? I'm wondering how much I could get off if I did go this route. I just wish Toyota would fix these incessant issues with this truck!

I used the recent college graduate program so I got supplier pricing. Not negotiable but around $5000 off. I ordered mine also since at the time they didn't have any on the lots.

Between the two, GMC. If it was me needing full size, Tundra all day long.

The tundra wasn't even on my radar after I drove one. They feel outdated, the interior and safety features are behind the times, the gas mileage is atrocious, and they don't look good to me. My 6.2L gets 18mpg around town and you would be lucky to get that highway with the tundra.

If a full size would work for my needs, I would be in the same boat. I've had a 2005 silverado and 2002 tahoe with 160k, 200k on them and they both rode better than the Tacoma when it was stock and got better gas mileage. I would not be willing to drive a Tundra with the pathetic mileage they get. Toyota needs to step up their game, I'm hoping there are other midsize options when I need a new one since the 2.5 gen is not appealing to me at all.
