LOL, you wanna caravan EARLY this time?! I can make sure to be outta work by 10:30am on Friday of that weekend!!! THAT, I can guarantee you this time!!! I can pre-pack, take my shi- to work with me, and meet you near and\or on Euclid and Talbert?! We can discuss that more if you want to plan it all.

 

I have school monday - thursday & I'm working gigs so I can take time off whenever, (by the way the gigs are paying off better then my minimum wage job did after taxes hahaha), so I'm down to leave whenever. You & I can head out & mark off some areas for everyone

 

Don't know what the big deal is to make an actual thread about it???!!! I've fat fingered it a few times myself, but I also have a fat a$$, but you don't see me mak'n a thread about it I just moved on in life, WTF???!!! Now I am understanding why it is the "turd gen section"!!!

I like the Alpha Romeo ... better bring your telescope too. Maybe I can help you figure out a way to apck it safely if you havent yet

 

I honestly don't know if I want to bring that much gear??? If I do bring my scope, it will be my old tripod and most likely, just the 80mm refractor? More than that and it would be quite a bit of planning and prepping on my end. I would LOVE to take my other setup, see pic, along with all my other gear, but THAT will be quite a bit!!! I don't know, we'll see because I have to admit, that would be cool as well!!!

Btw, someone MUST STAY at camp if I'm not there because that shi- ain't cheap!!! My new tripod is about $1,200.00 alone!!!

 

I can see about getting work off Friday as well and meet/set-up in the daylight. Don't want a repeat of pismo and get there in the middle of the night

 

Getting in early to stake a claim in the middle of a massive desert. Sounds like a thousand spoons when all you need is a fork. A no smoking sign on your ciggarette break. A free ride when you've already paid. A death row pardon two minutes to late. Ha.

 

Personally if it ends up being Anzo/Ocotillo my vote would be"Holmes"campground!With the amount of people who'm are attending(those who have been before and those 1st timers)it's the key centered spot for trail destination's/exploring!Don't get me wrong primitive camping is something i will fulfill in the future at AB/OW so for those who are sold in doing that you can't go wrong!

 

Looking at the pics of our man Randy. Haha. Youre awesome, Randy! It looks like Holmes had a lot of spaces to the left and right that were un occupied. Fire rings in the desert are cute but what I see is lots of shade which helps a ton when the temps can still be warm in October. Mob rule. Down with it
all. I should have my onboard plate and frame heat exchanger hot shower using reclaimed heat from my radiator by then. Nothing like a hot shower and cup of coffee on a cool morning in the desert.

 

Is Holmes the camp ground you can see from the 78, or is that further in?

 

Oh"Wild Thing"RandleCoyote!Holmes campground has plenty of spaces!The awnings are key with the potential heat that could still be lingering!There are three bathroom/shower facilities that are within a football fields distance(100 yards)as an example!Onboard showers though,YES!Haha!

 

Further in!Approximate time and distance i actually forget how long it took us to get to camp!We stopped at a rangers station as well before!

Where are some places I could look into for some light bars or anything other sorts of lighting? Looking for something that won't break my bank. I definitely want to have some extra lighting for this trip.
