Lack of R&D for supercharger :D or turbo.
This truck needs some coconuts to really set it apart IMO.
They've done a great job with packaging exterior etc, but people would be lining up for them if it had a motor, tranmission, maybe even flywheel and clutch, combo ONLY found on TRD pro.
IE - the last Raptor with the 6.7 L. That thing is beast!!

If I was going to get a pro I'd probably look into a 6 speed manual cummins ram 2500 mega cab. That's just me cause I love sticks.

Complete opposite trucks really. But you could turn that thing into a beast off road besides the size. Modding the trd pro would make it pointless to get in the first place imo.

I was told no JBL option by my Toyota dealer, but in the interior pics I have seen it has the badging? Can any Pro owners verify this?

I don't think the current cost differential now between the Pro and either TRD OR or Sport will be reflected much later in the resale.

Why pay $3-5K more now to recoupe maybe 500-1K more 10 years from now if you go to sell it. And if you don't replace it with stock shocks when worn or rebuild before sale the depreciation may be even more than a regular TRD.

What's the market on the 2nd gen Bajas and TRD Pros reflect now? I haven't heard them being all that desireable in the used market when looking at prices People seem to just pony up for a new 3rd gen instead of paying a premium on a high end used 2nd gen.

I see a lot of people comparing the price of buying an off-road and modifying it to the price of the Pro. My observation is that many people who buy the Pro end up modifying it anyway, sometimes replacing wheels, tires, suspension, etc. In those cases you are not comparing 36K + 3-5k of mods to the 42K of a Pro, you have to tack on more for mods for the Pro. To me the point of the Pro is to buy a stock off-road that you will be happy keeping mostly as-is. If you are going to swap wheels, suspension, tires, etc. then to me it seems you should buy an off-road and spend the money on your build.

I guess it would depend on how many of those 100k miles are hard / offroad miles before it's needed.

Price. Going to keep my old 3/4 ton Ford for a while now.
Going to buy a Camaro and put $10,000 in the bank instead of a PRO.

I don't hate the Pro, I just don't see any real advantages to buying one and that's the point of this thread.

If its what you want, go for it.

Advantages would be resale value, good cost/benefit for those who want better off-road capabilities and don't have the time to do the customizing themselves.

Disadvantage would just be in cost, specifically if changing the upgrades (such as the Rigid Industries fog lamps) less the benefits of selling the upgrade parts if someone wanted to do that for some reason.

I thought about that too. But I currently have two trucks with a moonroof and i never seem to open them.

For me the major benefit is the extra light. I also rarely open it. Gotta have that light though. Cars without moon roofs feel like the inside of a can.

Is this imagined resale value or proven resale value? Are the used Pros / Bajas pulling significantly higher dollars on the resale market than other TRD trucks? Like I said earlier in this thread, what's the advantage to pay $3-5K more now to recoupe maybe $500-1K more 10 years from now if you go to sell it?
