Sand in the tank, headlights, or electrical issues, the saga continues for the 4th time? (10/9/18)

This. They are seriously just grasping at straws to fix this. But hey man, if it happens again you can probably go lemon law and get all the insurance their money back

 

Yup, they don't know what's happening and are looking for anything they can to blame it on and get more money. They can make more money off a customer than they can with corporate paying them because they have to justify it to them. They can try to play a customer that doesn't know everything about the truck.

 

Pretty much. Got through about 10 pages and I couldn't take it anymore.

 

I like to read long threads backwards just for that reason.

 

So what about the sand in the lines the first time around?

 

That was just an added bonus. Wonder if they added the sand to cover their own half ass diagnosis?

 

This isn't over yet, but I'll be picking the truck up tomorrow for a 150dollar charge ..

But they already said there was indeed dirt in my gas tank this time around, so I am going to question that.
.anyone in the local area, want to have a wash party? I'll be putting factory bulbs in my truck and hosting it down tomorrow.


@TRSAndrew have y'all EVER heard of this? And if so, where at on your plug and play harness do I go about fixing this? I cant have my truck dying on a rain storm.

@AFMurse2014 Cruise by, we can bust out the pressure washer and wreck your truck again for a lemon suit

 

Better yet, after they fix it, ask them to run it through their car wash twice just to make sure its still safe to wash

 

I would VIDEO you lightly spraying the connections that they said would cause the problem before you change anything. Leave it as is and try to reproduce what they are claiming is the issue.

Then wait until it's working again (if that causes an issue), and put it back to stock and repeat.

The only thing I see happening with water on the HID harness is the water closing the circuit in the relay and turning the lights on with out the truck on or running.

Happened to mine. Had water in the HID relay. Only thing the stock headlight harness does is trigger the relay.

 

Yeah I dont see how water on the lighting circuit AT the lights could turn around and effect any part of the engine circuits. Thats what relays and fuses are for? Or do I just completely misunderstand electronics as a whooe lol

 

I'm also confused. But the lights never malfunction.

 

Are you spraying up into the front driver's side wheel well?

 

I spray under, over across, every which way...

Back from my Bronco days with the all metal double walled fenders and inner fenders it was imperative to get all that junk out or it rotted from the inside.

However, a light harness... Really?

 

Common grounds...
Look at all the crap they have spliced together on that side of the engine bay.

 

So those who cross deep water should have issues, and the fact the first time this happened was a hit to the pass side?
