So about 40 days ago I brought home my new (to me) 2012 Taco and today was time for it's first 5K oil change.
#1 - Did they change the angle that the oil comes out of the drain hole between '05 and '12?
Because after 421K miles and about 85 oil changes on the '05, I kind of figured that I knew where my oil pan needs to be... up until when I pulled the plug on the '12, and missed badly!
#2 - "In Late 2011 when they changed the speedometer face plate from red to white the procedure was changed where it has to be in Trip A in order to reset the Maint Req light."
Do they do this kind of stuff just because they are BORED and want to F#%K with us?
This took about 4 trips up and down from the computer back to the truck to finally reset, and about 4 different searches here to dig up the right procedure.

Sorry... probably just grumpy because the driveway is about 125 degrees at the moment and I am soaked, and there is a big oil stain on it, now covered in Dawn & OxyClean, out there.

I'll be on my way now...

yo tip of the day get an old card board box from behind the supermarket rip it open and use as a oil mat under your truck so when the oil drips, splashs it goes on the cardboard box not the driveway, someone told me this trick here on TW and it works like a charm in cheaping the driveway oil free and is reusable too.

    Same as everybody else...
Hey I thought this was gonna be another "I drained my AT fluid instead of the oil" stories. I have a Fumoto valve on my rig and it makes oil changes so much easier. Well congrats on the new truck!

I keep a large cardboard box for this, store it in the garage for next time. Go to a bicycle shop, very nice large box.

Just get a fumoto valve and you'll never have to worry about splatter mess again ( for an oil change that is)
