    Whose to say?
Do others have your exact lighting set up?
Are there more ground harnesses on the passenger side?
Is something in yours loose or exposed?
I'm just saying, I wouldn't discount the HIDs. After a little Googling, it seems to have merit.

He's saying your truck is uniquely yours regardless if every other person on earth has the same exact thing.

What might harm yours might be fine for the next guy.

    Look at this poor bastard.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
As long as you don't get sand pounded into your rear end you'll be good

that truck is pretty much screwed. Probably sand in the cylinders at this point.

Well they are completely ignoring the fact that last week they told me that there is dirt in the fuel tank and the pickup was clogged...

I'll be bringing that up ;)

That's because they found something else to point fingers at and don't want to try to blame the same thing again.

Also, you really need a locking gas cap, I bet the same guy from Pismo followed you out to wherever you offroaded and poured dirt in your sand tank!!

Well the truck is back at home. They tried to charge me half of the rental bill for my "loaner" and since I never authorized anything buy the diagnostic fee, they charged me 150. They ended up paying the full rental fee as well. They returned my truck with quite literally no gas, not even x miles to empty... It said "please refuel" on the dash.

I asked what happens if this issue occurs again with the stock lights, and the manager said "I don't think you'll have this issue again.".

I asked about the dirt they said was in the tank, and I literally got no response. He changed the subject on to paying for the bill, and I asked again, and got no answer. So I told him I take this truck out to remote places and need to be able to trust it, why is there dirt in the tank. Again, no answer.

So I asked about last times 14k dollar bill and said, so last time, it was the lights? He sorta nodded his head, so I told him my insurance rates did in fact increase. Again, no answer.

The only answer I did get was to bring it back again of it happens again...

It's funny that the first time this happens it's 14k. The second time where it's a true warranty issue with the reoccurrence, it's just the light bulbs, and move along.

I'm not sure what to do.

What seems more likely to you; water or sand intrusion?

Like you said, pump the guy for info.
I'd be asking them to show me what procedure/troubleshoot tree from the TIS lead them to their newest diagnosis. Anything less is a guess or blowing smoke up your ass.
My fear is, you're in for more of the latter.
    Good luck.:)

I know; kind of one the reasons I said don't discount the HIDs. Water and electrical components don't mix.
Do you have a resistor in the relay to duplicate the exact draw as the stock lights?
I really am trying to help you, help yourself. Unless, you prefer the peanut gallery comments; I can do those too.

Consider yourself really lucky. They could have declined warranty work due to non oem parts that was causing the issue.

No I like the helpful stuff,

The plug and play kit I have is the Morimoto kit from TRD. It has the drivers and igniters, etc. All matching plugs, relays, etc. I didn't have to cut or splice anything.

I'm just trying to figure, if the lights were causing the issue, you'd think they would be malfunctioning?

I have a few options. I can try and weatherproof the weatherproof connections, dielectric grease, shrink wrap over the plugs etc. Switch back to the terrible stock bulbs and soak it, or just wait

I'll probably switch back, spray it down ( after a wheeling trip I always spray down the radiator to get all the dirt, weeds, bugs, etc out of it) so that's where the waters getting to the lights I bet.

@stan23 they didn't do any warranty work to begin with.
