Nechrocasm/Murmur isn't really that spectacular. Doctrine of Passing is far stronger when it comes to auto rifles and the fusions just feel so weird, at least to me though. It's probably the skill bracket you've been set into.

 

so, on Mars, I just finished a mission that ended with me killing 3 robots that came to life, one at a time, in the black garden (I think) and it ended with a cinematic back at the tower with the speaker ranting about something a chick giving me a worthless gun...is that the "end" of the game?

I have yet to start The Taken King cuz I wanted to finish the initial story line first. I guess I know have to go back and complete the raids/strikes/patrols etc (along with TTK, and then rise of iron when it comes out)???

Yup... That was the end of the game in Year 1. The gun she gave you called The Strangers Rifle is now available as an exotic called No Time To Explain. You have to go through some steps to get the exotic rifle and it's kind of a fun quest line to complete. The pulse rifle, while mediocre at best, is still fun to play around with.

As far as the story line goes... I wouldn't worry too much about it. Destiny is pretty thin on story. Destiny is more about the game play.

 

Hella grinding yesterday. Took some new guys from the UK to sisters but we ran out of time. Joined an elite group and finished oryx on hard. Quite different when everyone has experience.
Finally done with that raid and I got the last fragment and challenge. So now I can get the ToM.

 

That's the key right there. Getting in a group that knows what they are doing.

Good deal on your last fragment. The ToM is a great gun and will make the daughters fight so much easier (if you ever decide to do it again).

 

I'm just stockpiling exotic engrams and running VoG / Crota for motes of light. I figure I'll decrypt the engrams once I finish the storyline of the new expansion then decrypt them at the highest light level I can to be ready for the raid on that Friday.

 

Probably will run my buddy through that needs the fragments but that will be on normal. I doubt we do challenge or hard but who knows. Have a few ToMs will help.

 

I've been done with King's Fall for quite sometime. Ended up being more of a chore than what I then what I think was intended. Mechanics-wise, I love the raid, but keeping the whole team alive was just a pain sometimes. I've done the raid a few times since the April Update, but after my attempts to solo Oryx, I'm ready for a new raid that hopefully isn't so "stingy" or random with the mechanics. Hopefully it doesn't turn into Crota's End, where I can solo it, but something towards VoG where it can be 2/3manned but you're better off with a team.

 

Its the subtle differences between Normal and heroic that make the KF raid a pain.

On gogoroth, the random chosen character that get turned into a Muslim Extremist and blows up the team.
On Oryx with the Knights that run and try to detonate the bombs.

Another helpful part for the two titans holding down the middle is the blessing bubbles. Having both dropped there helps drop the orgres down quick and saves your ass from the shooters that spawn on both sides.

 

The bomb really isn't that big of a deal. As long as whoever has it lets the other know then either runs directly up to Golgoroth and lets it explode. Admittedly this does very little damage to Golgoroth but any bit helps. Or if the person gets the bomb late in the cycle just make sure that they let everyone know which way they are jumping out of the pit. Very rarely is the bomb an issue.

With the ToM nerf that is going to be a bit trickier than it used to be since dropping Blessings of Light will automatically be removed as soon as you leave the bubble and start shooting the ToM. One way to get around this is to drop the Armor bubble or... use a Sleeper Simulant or... use a ToM on one ogre then swap to a sniper on the next, then ToM on the third ogre, then sniper for the fourth. You can plan and alternate with your teammate in the middle. Won't be any harder to do and won't really make much of a difference in the fight. That said... I doubt we do the raid again since RoI comes out next week. No need to for "us" anyway.

 

It seems everyone is complaining about the sniper nerf but honestly it hasn't changed my playstyle. Played a lot of elimination yesterday since Trials is on hiatus and I can still get snipes off just fine. About the only thing I noticed is it is much harder to snipe someone out of their super which is fine. That is why it's called a super and only used every so often depending on if you have max intellect and get kills to bring it up faster.

 

One thing of note... The shoulder charge got a nerf (assuming the unlimited sprint artifact that is coming with RoI). That should make the MK 44 Stand Asides the go to exotic for people that like to shoulder charge after the expansion drops.

 

Finally leveled up all of my sub classes on my Hunter. I love invisibility on the Blade Dancer. As dick move as it is, it gives me great pleasure disappearing into a dark corner and either deploying a sticky grenade or a shotgun blast on someone running by that doesn't notice me in the Crucible 6v6. I still have the three main events to complete. VOG, Crota, and TKF to complete, no fireteam to help me though so those may have to wait. I still need to preorder ROI, I better get on it.
