Because the housings are not designed to work with LED bulbs and tend to scatter more light which is not good with foggy/snowy conditions. Or attest when I tried it in past vehicles, kind of the same reason you don't turn on high beams in a snow storm, every flake of snow lights up and it looks like a white out. Low beams still tend to punch through.

I'll look into it again though

Hats off to you mate, I don't have the time to put that amount of energy into it right now, and i only use it to drive back and forth to the job site. 12-15 hours days, 7 days a week for 2 months straight, I barely have time to shower right now let alone wash my truck out.

Thankfully my self esteem can take the beating.

In all seriousness, the truck looks much better this way. All it took was an afternoon and like, 5 beers.

Replaced the body mount bushings with poly. Needed to get the 2nd gen kit and fab new mounts. Front bushings are taller on third gen so need to add a couple washers. The original radiator support mounts were starting to cut through so replacing them worked out. Not sure why it'd be so chewed up for a 6 month old truck.

Also started installing the port option puddle lights and footwell kit. Would have been a quick and easy install if i had stuck to the original lights but i have another set of lights and brackets fabbed.

I think i successfully made a "build page". Take a look if you're interested. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/louies-build-2016-trd-off-road-double-cab.417631/
Finally got my relentless fab mid skid combo on. Already had the front (ifs skid). Interesting.. Relentless fab sells the front, mid, and t-case skid. And they sell a combo mid/t-case. I was expecting two more skids. Just got one long one. Surprise to me. Either way, I'm covered. Also got my mobtown sliders on. During picture time I noticed my front skid is taking a beating.... Or at least doing its job!

Do you have a picture of where the transfercase crossmember attaches? I have mobtown sliders as well but I like relentless and wasn't sure if it would work because of mobtowns slider design

    Hey, TW
New member, first post... On mobile, sorry.

Last week I had my double cab off-road package Krown Coated (rust protection).

Today I put in Husky floor liners, and
CalTrend NeoSupreme Seat Covers, in tan.

Seat covers fit pretty well...and I think they match nicely.

Front receiver hitch goes on tomorrow for the cooler rack for surf fishing.

I got in it and drove it out of the station parking lot for the last time. After being a Police Officer since 1978 I am for now and for lack of a better term unemployed/retired. I was fortunate and honored to work with some of the best, and I will miss them and the job. In ten days I will be driving the blue with my sweetheart, the crazy lab, and our new hound puppy over 3000 miles to our new home in Southern California to start a new life. I hope to see some of you fine people on the way.
