That does not look good. For a moment, I thought I was looking at Franks front diff.

 

Yup, it's toast.

 

Sorry man, that sucks.

But look on the bright side, here is a golden opportunity to install and ARB air locker, you'll never break those spider gears again after that.

 

Yeah i'm not too bent out of shape about it haha. I'll probably end up searching for a used front diff to at least get it moving for right now then look into my options.

 

Got the new radiator installed yesterday. Zane came over and gave me some pointers and lent a hand. Mucho thanks to @Speedytech7

So today I took her over the pass to see what was up. I am very happy with the temps now. Both the water and trans temp are much, much better. The RedHead is ready for another adventure.

I originally wanted to, but soon discovered that part is on national back order and will be for several months. Also, the cheapest I saw it was close to $300. I ended up with one from RockAuto. Fits perfectly and looks identical to the original and only cost about $100.

Drove the FRV down to lander last night. Spent the day tearing apart a 97 tacoma with brett. Got the ac out of it for my moms new truck. Took the brake booster and brake lines for my truck. And then we dropped the whole tranny and transfer case. Brett is gonna swap it into his girlfriends double cab. And convert it to 4wd. Gonna be sweet.

 

What'd you guys do to your radiators for them to need to be replaced?

 

Packed them full of British columbia mud haha

 

I can't speak for Ben, but I ruined mine trying to clean it at the car wash with the high pressure wand.

 

Pretty sure that big mud pit was in Alberta. Haha

You're not supposed to blast the shit outta them. There's a special foaming cleanser you use to suspend the dirt particles and use low pressure to wash it out.
