So now that I've got my Kings on order, I need to get new tires to fill out that soon to be massive gap. I was looking at KO2s or the Open Country A/Ts, but with how much I just spent on the suspension, I'd like to try and not break the bank even further, but I still want a good tire. Any suggestions for me? Also what size should I go?

And of course, go America :oldglory::oldglory::oldglory:

Check out the wildpeak AT3's. They get great reviews and can be found for around 150. each.

I second the wildpeak at3w. Seems like a solid tire so far. Got five of them for 600ish. If you go above 265/75-16 you will have to do some trimming.

You're going to get a lot of different opinions here. Set your budget first and then ask yourself what terrain are you going to be in most of the time. My opinion on tire brands means jack shit but if you want it I'll give it to ya. For the most part I dislike having the tire conversation. Someone will always try to one up ya on the topic. More so than any other topic on this forum. Just know that anything above stock size (except 5mm greater than stock on aspect ratio) you will have to do trimming to get them in. And then trimming once you're suspension settles, and then trimming as you encounter different articulation. It will be a good amount of runs before you have it all dialed in perfectly. And if you go hard on the trails with 285's then understand that you will, in fact, have to live with the frustrations of them for that "stance."

Go America! I remember when 9/11 went down. I was sitting on my ship about to head up to the flight deck for quarters. Our base locked down and we went to security alert. We were ordered to light boiler fires and prepare our engines for underway -- we were going to war. I was one thirsty for blood 19 year old. Our crew was ready to die for each other and for country.

Truth I personally would go with 265/75 or 255/85. Don't know if I would start chopping a brand new truck for a little lift.

Thanks for your service and any other man/woman that's fighting for our country!

On another note, I'm looking to get new tires too, so I'm over here taking notes lol I'm looking at getting some 285's, but I kinda wanted to see what your guys' opinions were on them. I know there is no right or wrong answer since it's all personal choice.

285's = stance and more advantage in snow and loose sand and mud. 255's = pizza cutters and best for everything else. A longer tire is best for socal wheeling. When airing down you get longer wheel base than wider. In fact, when airing down you gain 70% longer tire and only 30% wider tire. So a higher aspect ratio is more advantageous than a wider tire when wheeling in socal conditions. Stance is more for show.

    Even better. :)

Here's a fun read for those wanting to take a brief course in tire width: The first few paragraphs cover terms and definitions and such. Scroll down to Understanding Off-Highway Tire Performance to get to the good stuff. The Benefits of a Narrow Tire and The Benefits of a Wider Tire follows.

A good 10.5 r15 is hard to find now. I was looking for those, but bfg is about the only tire. I like narrower tires for off road even though I probably have the widest ones here @ 12.50"

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Same type of tire? Snow is like sand: you don't want to grab it, you want to ride over it.
