    I've been quite happy with the various REI tents we've had. for 3 people, get a 4-6 person tent. for fair weather camping get a '3-season', if you do hard core mountaineering, a 4-season is a must.

    I would normally agree with you guys. Almost everything we have bought at REI has been great. However we bought a Half Dome 2+ REI tent and are very unhappy with it. it's going back tomorrow. The fly isn't very good at all. Doesn't cover well. What models have you used?

    I've got a Passage 2 that was my personal 1-man tent for motorcycle trips and such, a Dome something 6-man that we used as our family tent for awhile, and a Kingdom 8 thats our luxo tent, holds a queen airbed, and has a screen room large enough for two upright camp chairs + a small table :)

    And yes, their service is excellent, should be no problem returning anything.

    I recently purchased a Cabelas Alaskan Earlier this year and I was impressed with it. Only used it for 2 people on separate cots and a dog and it did well. Was also able to purchase an extra 'aluminum' pole as a spare for the just in case moments. Have to admit I probably wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't on sale at a great price and I was in need of a bigger tent. This is a 4 man tent.
