    1. You need to work for Toyota.
    2. I don't think Toyota would ever think this level of discussion would be on a discussion board. I don't think they like it, but too bad.

    Keep up the good work.

I appreciate the compliment. I like to try to solve problems and share what I learn so others can benefit as well.

I agree. Sounds like a guy that love mechanical engineering.

Put your efforts towards figuring out the diff howl and rumble strip braking issue and I'll retract my previous statement.

If I could observe a truck with these issues, I think, given enough time, I could get to the root cause. I have troubleshot these things before.

    What's stopping you?

And by the way, someone needs to split off the last portion of this thread into a new thread. The technical aspects of the shifting don't belong in a sales price thread.

I concur! Bought mine from Dean and got it for $37.5 out the door. DCLB OR 4x4, tech package, tow package, JBL, chrome exhaust, mud guards and mats. Paid $2500 to ship to Hi and still a great deal! Won't be disappointed w Dean:thumbsup:

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
Is it just me or do you all think that these prices on ALL new vehicles are going nuts?

A regular Taco now is more than I paid for my first house. Granted there is inflation, but the percentages of price increases don't work either.

When I bought my last 4x4 Tacoma (DCSB TRD OR, Nav. 4x4) loaded truck maybe 3 or 4 years ago, it was only about $30k. Now some people are paying over $50k in some places for a TRD Pro.

Many other vehicles, i.e. Fancy F-150's, Silverado's & etc are well over $50K .... I know more stuff requires a higher a price too ... But this is crazy IMO.

PS. FWIW ... The Taco I paid $30,500 4 years ago, people are paying from $36,500 to $38,500 for the same truck with a few new safety features.

Dealers are also adding more "high priced stuff" to their bottom line due to the Tacoma's high demand.

We need good competition to keep prices competitive

There is some pricing speculation for sure. Some of the new gadgetry is nice and certainly raises the value of the car. One thing is for sure though. The market value of anything is the highest price that the market WILL bear. In the US, anyway, people are willing to dump a lot of money into buying one of these trucks, and they are selling like hot cakes. Ford is foolish to not be in the mid-sized truck market at a time like this. Rumor is 2019 for the Ranger (according to a colleague of mine in FORD).

Part of the problem is people are willing to pay for trucks like Platinums and Limited and manufacturers are adding stuff like LED light strips. Until people push back on prices manufacturers and dealers will keep adding.

I bought mine from Dean 2016 TRD OR DC M/T for 32k out the door. Drove it for 4 months, had a M/T tranny issue that was fixed but Toyota never offered to extend my warranty after a replaced tranny, so traded it in for 2017. Dealer in Texas gave me 31k for the trade in. Just goes to show you how good of a deal Dean get's ya!

Did I get a good deal?

I traded a 2015 DCLB 4x4 Limited with 35k miles plus $12k for a 2017 DCLB 4x4 Sport with Premium, tow, and Tech (with JBL)
