we're arguing about sliders. She just doesn't seem to understand the benefits of sliders over the step bars. She says that she already has a hard time getting in the truck, and seems to believe that sliders will make it worse. She also thinks that the sliders won't give that much more protection. I have explained to her, showed her pictures, and I have even used you two specifically and daniel as examples of how your wives don't have issues getting in and out. I can't fuckin win :censored::frusty:

Lol. Sliders do make it harder to get in and out. Offer to physically pick her up and put her in the truck whenever she needs to get in.

really though, put your steps on craigslist. You can get a couple hundred for them. I did for mine anyway. Then just wait til there is a deal on sliders too good to pass up. How far away is black friday anyway...

    ^^^this.
    ^^^^^this. ...wait, don't do this!!
^^^^this is actually a good idea. Then have GSM design some kick out sliders with removable, possibly bolt-on, steps that look good and are functional "up to the largest of wives". She can get in easily when your dropping off at her mother's and we can unbolt the step off of the slider before you hit the trail.

Get sliders with a top fill plate, and then they are steps. :) I've really thought about having fill plates put on mine, or just getting new ones with fill plates.

clarification: we've talked. She said that she doesn't like the way that sliders and plate/hybrid bumpers look. She understands the benefit and functionality. She just doesn't see the point of them when i only wheel once or twice a year (which means i need to go wheelin more). That being said.... she never said that i could not get any sliders. She just wants me to leave the step bars on until i can afford to get sliders. And Everett, that is exactly what I'm going to have GSF do on the prototypes.

I've thought about fill plates. May do some, may not. I don't know yet.

Here's my advice, never put nonslip tape on sliders... Bloody calves may occur.

I think next time I'm at my buddies shop im gonna grab some thin plate and build some simple die'd plates for the top of the sliders.

Now that everyone knows that I just had an argument with my wife over sliders and taking my side steps off, i want everyone to know that we just made up and apologized to each other. None of this leaves this thread. She would be appalled that everyone knows.... and I'm kind of embarrassed, but i needed to get it out.

I do this on my own truck! You should see the reactions when I forget to tell anyone else that rides in my truck.

    :sorry:
