What brand 3 leaf a all do u have?

 

Hey guys I just ordered some 5100's and I have a spacer lift that currently gives me 3" of lift I want to replace the spacer with springs but which do I go with to give me 3" of lift? 885 or 887 I have a 05' double cab prerunner

 

As best I can tell most of the double cab guys are doing 887 springs. That's what I'm planning also based on what I've read with a 3 AAL. I already have 5100s for level kit. Pre runner may be different though

 

I have the Headstrong 3 leaf AAL.

 

If anybody has tried multiple brands of 3 leaf kits, is there really a difference in them other than the brand and price

 

finished my install yesterday. Got nearly three inches with 885s and 5100s, prerunner. Thanks headstrong! 1.5 inch aal out back.

 

Keep in mind that with just about any suspension lift, you will get some settling as time goes on. Miles and amount of suspension flexing will speed up the process. I did a 5100/885X/Deavers 2" AAL lift back in March. It netted 2-3/4" (front) when I did the install. In a couple thousand miles, it was down to just under 2-1/2". I went back and added 1/2" spacers since then, and now measure right at 3" above stock height. Rear is holding @ 2" above original.

 

Those look like stock UCA. How much adjustment did they say yo had left? I especially like the fact that you had enough that it seems most people that have posted in here have stock UCA. This thread may have just kept me from spending an extra $600

 

Stock UCA's.....I got 2.9 degrees + caster and still had adjustment left. The higher you go, the more caster you want. The bigger the tires, the more caster you want. 3 degrees positive is the target with a 3" lift. Most cases, you can't get that much with stock UCA's, but I got lucky. 1.5 degrees is the bare minimum. With that, you'll find the front end wants to wander at highway speeds (and a 2-1/2" to 3" lift)

 

I doubt I'll add spacers after the springs settle so hopefully I will be solid with an 887 on my double cab. I don't do a ton of off roading and no crawling

 

887's should give you a full 3" AFTER they settle from what I know about them. Only change would be if you added a heavy bumper/winch/skids.....That being the case, 886's would be a better choice.

 

5100's set at .85 with eibach 112620 coils gave me 2.5" in the front. wheelers 3 leaf aal with the overload left in gave me about 3 in the rear. the rear sits about 2" higher than the front. stock uca's alignment at 1.4 and 1.7 castor. 17x9 wheels 4.5 bs -12 offset with 285/70/17 tires. rides and drives great.

 

Did you leave your overload or no?

 

I kept the overload in.

 

I've just added 5100's all around w/ 887's. Currently a little rubbing of driver side tire. I'll be adding a 115lb front bumper soon. Concern is the rubbing will get worse. Considering adding a plate spacer to compensate...thoughts??
