    Mine has never over heated but my resi has def blown coolant out of of it. Didn't know that meant a blown head gasket. No other signs of it. :notsure:

    Chris, mine started having the overflowing coolant issue with no temp issues on a trip to Tahoe in February. I put hose clamps on the overflow hose and the drain plug because it looked like it was coming out over there...continued to happen occasionally but only on drives 45 mins +. In the past two weeks it became more of a constant issue so I tried a new radiator cap thinking it might be worn out and letting too much back into the resi...spray / overflow prob got worse and then I noticed bubbles coming into the resi, slightly darkened coolant and resi was staying over fullwhich is 99% blown head gasket. James is going to do the gas test ( carbon test I think ) just to confirm it is exhaust bubbles but what I have heard my symptoms are 99% head gasket and the 05-07's have a known issue with it too.

    The leak down test tells you all that stuff. It's how I found my burnt exhaust valve last winter.

    Sucks about the head gasket.

    Continuous bubbles in the reservoir are the quickest representation of a head gasket leak. Depending on the severity of the problem, coolant can also leak back into the cylinders, when the engine is off.

    Pulling the spark plugs can sometimes give you an idea of which cylinder or cylinders are bad. As the tip will be wet.

    Also, a well enough blown seal, will be easily found with a compression tester. If that doesn't show a clear enough resukts, then a leak down is the next and better test.

    Ultimately, if you repeatedly blow coolant out of the reservoir, you've a head gasket leak, and it doesn't matter really which cylinder it is. Just need to get in there and replace them both. Since they are both aged.

    Replace every O-ring that is in between any mating surfaces which come off. Then determine if you want ARP studs or OEM bolts. Either way, you as well advised to throw away the current head bolts. Torque to yield, and they have already stretched. Trash.

    Good maitenance protocol would be to also change the water pump gasket.

    The guides only need to be if they have deep grooves. If you've maintained reqular oil changes and properly levels, they won't be bad.

    The chain can stretch, but it can also be checked for allowed stretch. Proper oiling prevents a lot of problems with excessive stretch. Since you don't race, it should be ok, but check it.

    Are you planning on doing the replacement of having someone do it?

    This can be from multiple things. If it only happens once, and it has been run hard since, no need to worry. If you are continually cleaning white/pink residue off of the passenger side of the engine bay, then it is time to start planning for the HG replacement.

    Keep an eye on it buddy, mine went from " time to time " to a big problem real quick. The real tell tale is if you see what looks like air bubbles flowing into the resi, if your ever see that get the test done to confirm.

    Once a basic set of parameters are entered, due to the fact that many dynos and the tuning have been done already, you just plug it in. It will adapt to whatever is done to the engine to maintain proper timing and AFR tables. If it cannot, then it will throw a CEL as something is wrong. Add new mods within an acceptable range of your injectors, and it will optimize the mixture for it. It is perpetually in closed loop. This is how it always keeps a proper AFR.

    They take A LOT of question work out of the equation, for what is normally tuning intensive. The "self tuning" is becoming a regular component of high end ems'.
