You didn't hold anyone up! We just wanted to make sure you and Barley were safe. Photos look good, I'll have to explore the mine next time!

If you like mines, the one off Spring Creek is pretty amazing.

We walked around for like 15 minutes and didn't explore it all. You drive right by it in between the first two obstacles.

Brett, that looks awesome! I must admit, I was a little hesitant to enter the mine shaft (if it is the one I'm thinking of from your photos). Is this the one along the switchbacks with the somewhat large pull-off area?

That sounds right. It's on the shelf road overlooking 70 where 40 takes off. I wouldn't want to go in that thing alone either.

Will Kevin have one? It will not make a difference if he does not. I have not had the time/want to take the test yet, so I will not have one.

Communication will be next to nothing unless there is a repeater close to the trail.

I'm not planning on making the jump anytime soon and if I do, it will be with a vehicle mount unit with antenna, then I will ditch CB all together.

I thought you had ham

I wasn't planning on taking the test immediately, figured it would still be of use out there if anyone else had a radio. If not then disregard everything I've said to this point :bananadead:

Ham means, for me, a big change in my CB setup that ruins my current local communications. That is the reason I have been slow to get on board. The guys I talk to don't want to change. Though, I have enough money into my setup it would easily cover a nice VHF or dual band unit with close to the same power.

Alex got tired of bulbs burning out and went back to factory setup. I'm hoping it was a bad connection somewhere and the new bulbs last longer than the ~6 mo he was getting from them.
