Personally I Would go with the nitrochargers. I ran 880s and nitrochargers for a long time and it was a great ride.

    Kings ftw though

Surprised you're not about that ADS life, considering you live in Az.

I got a really good deal on the kings and really didn't need resi's so they were a better match for me and my wallet. :)

OME Suspension kit Magnaflow SS catback, ARE cap, Yakima kayak & bike racks, Deck Lid, Westin Safari Light Bar.
Another pic, but not much better.

New suspension does exactly what I want it to do...occasionally haul MC trailer to the mountains, kayaks to the Bay, and mountain bikes to the trailheads. Not a daily driver.

I was set on 881s for my double cab but I don't want to stress the CVs too much. How much lift do the 880s give you?

I don't know about 880s, but 881s gave my Xtra Cab V6 4wd about 2.5" on sagging stock suspension. After settling, I have a good 2". My CVs look awesome, and UCAs are flat, not sloped down. I would go 881s

I cannot wait to join the ranks. Id like to get one of these (complete OME kit, Nitrocharger, Dakar leaf) on before the snow falls. Also tire/wheel upgrade.

Seems like most people doing this have the 3.4l 6 cyl but i was pleased to spot a couple xcab 2.7ls in this thread so i hope they will chime in.

Still just wondering what would be perfect for what I do with the vehicle. I know the great minds here will help steer me in the right direction as well as justify my desire to make my shit more rad despite the drawbacks.

DD with occasional offroadin'/fun in the snow and generally shitty roads here in Maine.

    • 2.7l 4 banger
    • will have an fiberglass ARE cab high w/rack on pretty much 24/7/365 - bout 150-200lb
    • Rear steel plate bumper/hitch from RelentlessFab (when it gets here in like 6 months :() - 80lb

I do carpentry work so off and on i will have some lumber aboard, table saw, chop saw, tools.

Was thinkin' i prolly dont need anything bigger than 265/75/16 for a tire/wheel upgrade.

Would the OME 881's be overkill? As i do not really plan on adding a steel bumper or winch and would like to keep my CV's intact.

Whether 880 or 881...would an AAL be a wise choice in addition to the Dakars?

Are bump stops or extended brake line a wise choice or necessity?

I read over an' over that after a proper OEM install these girls still ride great so id like that to be the case in this instance so i wanna git that shit as close to right on the first go.

It's only a matter of time...

How much lift do you want? The 880s will only give about an inch after they settle with your truck.

Well i'd like as much as i can get without having to add a steel bumper and winch up front to make it ride right and not damage cv's etc.

Go with 881s. They should net you 2.5 inches after settling without a bumper or winch. That's what I have seen while I have been researching.

    Hi
For the people that bought the OME kit from Wheelers. Did you have a fitment problem with the u bolts for the leaf pack?

    Stock U Bolts

Wheelers U Bolts (about 1-2mm wider)

You sure? The Ubolts dont fit snugly on the leaf pack compared to stock. There is quite a bit of play side to side.

Mine were the same way. Put them on. Tighten them down. Check for play. Mine fit fine.
