From my limited knowledge and what I've learned they're either Bolted to the rails of the truck directly of fit directly on to the rails. Therefore any weight would be distributed evenly to the bolts or by pushing against the sides of the rails and evenly to the frame or the bolts which ever you choose. Personally I would choose the latter. Plus that way you wouldn't need to drill holes in you truck.

I used Yak Traks by Yakima and the rest was sourced loosely. A couple Thule carriers and Inno as well.

I put my rack up last week and put my kayak rack on this week. I used a Rhino Rack Nautica 570 for the kayak rack. Not the most cost effective, but I wanted something low profile. For the most part, the rack went together easily. I had one upright and the horizontal cross bar that were a bit snug, and had to be man handled in to place, but they worked. I think my next step will be a KB Voodoo cargo basket and some rotopax cans for the sides, and eventually a roof top tent! I love this rack! It is SOLID!

Thanks! They are just 1 3/4" clamps (2 piece)that have threaded holes in them. I just put in a bolt (cut the head off) and just run through the hi lift. I got them on eBay I think. Pretty cheap.

Does anyone have a kobalt 12" tool box and a bed rack? Thinking of trying a SB rack in my LB and keep my toolbox. Im thinking of putting the rack on for camping trips, but removing it for day to day stuff

Yes sir, been making different parts for a while. It's currently in krylon industrial gloss black. I might sand blast and have it professionally coated after I done adding accessorie mounts. It is the height of the cab.

    Hello,

I love your bed rack. How high off the sides is it? And also... where did you find those cool black bar mounts? Thanks

    Hello,

I want to do a setup like that. How high are your bars to fit the rotopak? And how did you mount the rotopak to the bar?

Just built this thing a couple weeks ago. I have a HiLift mounted on the other side now.

The height of the rack was determined in part by the rotopax themselves. There is about a half inch of wiggle room between them and the tents cross bars. They are mounted using the rotopax DLX mounts (no plates) to cross bars on the rack system that run vertically.

looks good. Have you gotten any grief for blocking the view of third brake light? I just finished my rack the other day and didn't even think about stupid light, it's totally blocked by one of the bars.

Thinking about getting a pair of crossbars. Liking the look/price of the Relentless Fab bars. If I go bare it's okay to just prime/paint with rattle cans right?
