    What hasn't been modified?
If that's like the connector I have the pins should be removable. As for wire from the pics it looks like a thick enough wire. And I'd have to agree with Jake, if you don't need it to disconnect just use butt connectors and soldering/crimping just to make sure it all covered with heat shrink or electrical tape.

You can use mine or if you have man hands use vise grips.

Yes, pins are removable, other than that one side that is melted in.

When i found it melted... After trying to figure out why it would not turn on. The non melted positive side had un clipped but was still inside the connector body. So I'm thinking it was arcing.

Ok I am licensed electrician. If you use this butt splice. Put heat shrink on it and then put two layers of 3m super 33 electrical tape.

Do not use vise grips. You will not get the proper conection. Every crimp needs to be crimped to manufacturers specifications or it will fail.

I think we are past the failing part. But for this it will be fine expesialy if he adds glue lined heat shrink.

Yes it has failed. So now you buy a new plug end and replace it. Arcs can cause more damage then you can see. You do not try fix something that has already failed to cause damage to the product.

ACE might not have the connector in the regular electrical aisle. Try the welding section if they have one. The one here has a good selection of small copper and brass connectors plus the cable up to 2ga.

My second time getting pulled over with no front plates by 5-0. Keep on giving the officer my tag line of waiting for aftermarket bumper and he lets me go (must be Taco fan). Now I really need an excuse of front bumper because one of these days I am bound for a ticket :anonymous:
