Hello. I have a 2002 Taco TRD that I would like to lift about 8". I was hoping to do a 6" suspension lift and a 2-3" body lift but (as you guys probably know) I am not finding any big lifts for the TRD. Please don't hate but I am not four wheeling or anything it is just the look that I am going for. So I am throwing this out there to see if there is any hope for me to accomplish what I would like without doing some extreme custom stuff which I do not have the know how to do or the money to pay others :).
Any helpful thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Not possible to do a 6" suspension lift. You need a drop bracket lift or SAS. You could do a 3" suspension lift with a body lift added to that. I would be hesitant to go that route though but can't say I have not seen it done on here before.

Does it say 2wd? If so, what about a spindle lift? I've seen a ton of trucks with 6" - 7.5" spindle lifts with no bracket lifts coming into play.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Is it a prerunner or 5 lug? Prerunners and 4wds have the same suspension.

Except no CV axles. So you don't have to worry about those angles

I'm sorry guys, been a way for a while. I did mean to put TRD. It is a prerunner. I have searched a LOT and the highest lift I can find is from rough country and its a 5 inch lift. Was really hoping for a 6 but I will take what I can get. Places want about 3,000 to provide the lift and install. I can get it on line for 1400 (versus 1900 if they provide it). I have looked through the instructions and other than a couple of cuts that have to be made it seems pretty straight forward. I have a brother and dad with all of the equipment needed to do it so I am thinking I will give it a go.

Are we talking about the truck in your profile pic? It already looks like it's been lifted at least 6"...I hope you're not thinking of adding another 6 or 8 inches to it, lol.

99% likely if you bought the same kit online they will not install it for you.

No offense meant so please don't think I am slamming you or your Q (I own a prerunner also and so I have to ask) - why would you want to do this with a prerunner? Yeah, I get the look factor but as far as offroad... expensive, I can think of a lot more to spend 1400 on. Hell, I'd go with a nice ARB over the lift but thats just me. Look forward to seeing some pics

Thanks for the thoughts guys. It is totally for looks. I do no off roading. My profile pic is kind of my dream. I cant go that big. I would like to run 35's and would like to go about 7" on the lift if possible. That is why I considering a body lift in addition to the suspension lift.
By the way, what is an ARB?

You can clear 35s with just a 6" kit

Hopefully your planning to re-gear if you have 35s in mind..

    v6 or 4 banger?

Arb is a rear locker that “locks” your tires essentially so that they both spin

    or possibly a arb bumper.

ARB is a company that makes off-road parts etc

think hes refering to an arb air locker. or maybe a bumper?

with 35s you better add in the cost of regearing.

The truck has a V-6. Do you think that 35's will be too much for it? And it is not so much about just what will clear 35 it's about achieving a certain look. I like the look of a lot of gap between the top of the tire in the bottom of the wheel well. I may have to go with 33's to accomplish this.

I would highly suggest re-gearing if you go 35s. 33s you can be okay with but in some cases may feel sluggish

Well, just to be clear. I am doing no off-roading . This is strictly street driving. I live about a mile from work and mostly just drive my truck around town

Like the Hawaii look huh? Well if you go 33s you can be fine not regearing. 35s you'd probably want 4.88s
