The SHO is a lot lighter then a crew cab f150. I work at a ford dealership, so I drive plenty. i can't tell you they aren't all created equal. Doesn't mean there is necessarily an issue. Yes the turbo's are small but that doesn't mean they don't have lag. Just like the Tacoma I can be driving 30mph and the truck is in 6th gear. Is takes a second to downshift and for the motor to rev up and the turbos to spool. Even punching it off the line no turbo is gonna have instant power no matter how small. My truck weighs 5600 lbs, any vehicle that size takes a second to get going

I've driven 15-20 ecoturds, all the way to 2016 model year. They suck

its funny everyone complains yet driving the new taco the same way I drive my car I felt it was faster.
by no means would it be...my car has more torque and almost the same hp, but ya I have major turbo lag so I don't usually hit boost unless I need to.

Really dunno what people expect? Its a truck not a sports car.

I raced my 550hp car all weekend and drove it around town. My tacoma didn't feel underpowered at all once I got home and drove it. The gas pedal moves farther than a 1/4" for a reason

agreed. they're ok empty but put some weight in the bed or trailer and they suck.

I'll take an eco diesel over an eco boost any day. My uncle has the eco diesel, considering he had a 700hp cummins before it, the eco diesel still pulls pretty good.

I'm really curious how the new cummins in the Nissan Titan will be. V8 cummins should be cool. But nothing will beat the I6

same dude. I pulled into the dealer and test drove a TRD sport right after getting out of my car.
From my 240hp car 410lbs torque to the taco. Didn't feel slow at all.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't doubt my car would beat it in a race...but its a truck.

yes little tiny hair dryer turbos.
which is why they burn out fast if you do a lot of towing.
those turbos spend way too much time fully spooled.

I wouldn't say 11000 lbs of towing capacity sucks. Especially for a V6. Everyone has their personal opinions, but these motors are proven. Are they flawless? Of course not. Few turbo issues on some and issues with the injectors gumming up from the carbon. That was fixed in the New ecoboosts however.

As I've said in the past, I get in, I push the peddle hard and it goes just fine.
