I specifically chose it for the crawl control and rear diff lock. My current truck is a 2wd I converted to 4wd with a SAS, 5.29's, F/R electrics, Marlin crawler etc. I doubt I'll wheel the new one much and would have chosen the long box if it were available but couldn't pass on the good drivetrain options. I ordered an MX4 with the truck and now I'm looking to order some sliders and figure out how to fit a Trac rack on there so I can still fold the MX4 up against the cab. Delivery is 2nd-3rd week of Oct.

Tires, just a note for guys tire shopping there is a 25% off sale on Duratracs right now (Fountain & CDN tire). I run the OEM A/T's on my wifes 14 4runner year round and was planning on ordering a set of KO's this week. 265/70/17 $275 for the BFG or $208 for the Goodyear with the sale. Since they are so similar performance wise I think I'll try the Duratrac and then swap rims when my truck arrives.

Duratracs are apparently great in the snow. I may go ko2 though on stock sport rims. Just hoping my or a dealership nearby will pricematch tires

I had alot of fun last winter with just stock

Hrm... well the dealer I was going through no longer works for Toyota. I talked to a more senior salesperson who is saying that it may not be possible to get the Pro until middle of 2017 but since I am first on their list I should be able to get one at some point. Not sure what to do.

    EDIT:

Interestingly talked to the Toyota dealer closest to me that had a Cement Grey Pro on order for someone that might be cancelled by the person. The dealer said if the person doesn't respond by tomorrow I can take that order which he is sure is coming in the next month.

    So options I suppose.

I put my money down on a 17 Trd Offroad double cab on Sept 3rd, dealer said should be able to get it Mid to late October, but to call in a week and check.......so I called today, build date is Sept 21st, and he says it could be December/January before I get it  At least I'm in the queue I guess. They did say to call later in the month and they'd have a better idea of date.

Ordering from Toyota sucks. With any other maker it's about 6 weeks to get a truck. Toyota seems to be more like 6 months lol. Hard to fault then though when they don't seem to have any trouble selling every Tacoma they make.

Our Off-roads will be here starting October 8 but all 3 are sold to Tacomaworld Forum people so far. The following ones will be here about a week or so later but still in October. If you are interested I have 1 quicksand and 1 inferno that will still be an October delivery.

Kinda wish you could get an OR with a full cab in Canada. I'm happy with the access cab, but would have preferred the full one with a shorter bed.

I always do. No matter the vehicle.
4x4 or not doesn't matter what you have for drivetrain, its not going to help you stop like winter tires.
I don't buy snows though I buy ice tires.
Where I am in Ontario the snow isn't the problem its the ice we get on all the roads.

you know its bad when a sales rep tells you if you're going to buy a pro you may as well buy the tundra

Looked at Tundra. 16 Limited on sale is $4000 more than Pro and then you got to factor in Gas and how you will be using it. If you need to haul then worth it, otherwise why go Tundra?

Thanks for the offer Mike. I'll suck it up and wait it out, you never know maybe she'll come earlier. The deal was right for me, and I have the time.

If he said that he obviously doesn't know the trucks very well. Just because they are similar pricing doesn't mean its always a better choice.

Yeah or else he may as well just buy an F150 for a few K less :p.

I'm not going to lie Toyota's Tacoma pricing is silly. I won't be in a Tacoma for my next OR vehicle. I can't afford to destroy 50K worth of truck.
