3" Rough Country Lift Help

Hey Everyone,
For the past 3 months or so I've been debating on putting a 3" Rough Country lift in my 2007 TRD access cab Tacoma with 265/75/R16 tires. The only thing keeping me from doing it are the few horror stories I've heard about drive shaft vibrations because of the increased angle and huge decreases in ride quality. It is obviously expected that it won't feel like a stock ride, and I would like some input from people who have this same setup and lift. I am also expecting a decrease in gas mileage because of the extra inch of tire, which doesn't really bother me. I just need some reassurance. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

 

I dont have a rough country lift but is it spacers and blocks?

 

ya they are spacers in the front and blocks with different shocks in the back to accomodate the lift

 

If I were you I would stay away from spacer lifts and blocks. I only hear bad things about them. I would spend a little more and do it right. I mean come on, its your Tacoma!!! But there still is a lot of people with spacer lifts.

 

Don't do it. rough country lift are terrible and 2-3 year down the road you will end up replacing it.

Personally, if you want a lift without breaking the bank...go with the toytec 3" lift much better quality and design.

if you can save up the dough and get the full rear leaf pack and the coil-overs for the front. i have had mine sine april 08 and not one problem.

spend the money and do it right the first time, otherwise it will end up costing you more time money and agony in the future. i learned the hard way on my 88 pickup

 

First of all....OUCH on that upper picture!!!! Secondly, listen to chris4x4, he knows it all and he helped me a bunch on my lift as well!!!

 

ya i dont mind spending a little more money for a toytec setup w/bilsteins or new leaf springs and adjustable coilovers but the rough country is just too inexpensive not to look into

 

Go with toytec. Cant go wrong!!!

 

that is some greusome stuff! i will definately look into the toytec...i dont want any of those problems

 

ok so as for the toytec options, what do you guys suggest/have on your trucks. should i go with the ultumate lift with aal's and adjustable billies or the OME kit with aal's?

 

Ultimate lift looks like a really good deal. but 2 years ago toytec aal would break all the time.....see if they improved them before buying the. you may just want to buy the full leaf pack and the coiul-overs seperate.

great great stuff....more pricy...but well worth it.
great stuff as well but the leaf springs are very soft and cant hold much weight. prob the one thing i would have changed bout my lift
i paid $249 for mine when i got them....lokks like they've gone up quite a bit
