I got a hard hat for going mine exploring, and when my son tried it on, he decided to show his true blue collar attitude.:DIMG_20160909_184219510.jpg

Yesterday was a blast! If any of you guys are going through Tombstone I'd look up a business there called Tombstone's 1878 Mine Tours. There's 3 different underground mine tours, with difficulties ranging from the super-easy Goodenough Mine tour (8 months pregnant women and elderly people approved) to the Girard Mine Extreme Tour (hardcore holy-shit spelunking). @mbmack1, my coworker Jeremy and I did the Girard tour yesterday and it was my 3rd time down there personally.

The Girard Mine tour takes you down to almost 500 feet from the surface and 4 miles into a maze of tunnels that makes up a small part of the Girard, Toughnut, Empire, And Silver Thread Mine complex, barely scratching the surface (pun intended) of its 100+ miles of tunnels!

Saying goodbye to daylight for the next 8 hours

    150 feet underground

    image.jpg

    @mbmack1 and Jeremy approved!
    image.jpg

450 feet down and 2 miles in, an ore cart that has been undisturbed for over 75 years!
    image.jpg

And another, not too far away in the same tunnel.

That was an epic mine tour. Nothing like walking out of the early morning sunshine into the darkness and re-emerging at dusk! The most fun I've had getting sweaty and dirty in a very long time!

Timbers holding back a rock slide that have been in place for over 120 years, notice Carey's arms at the bottom of the pic, which gives perspective to the shot.

@JeepAndrew and our tour guide, Carey, taking a breather about 150' underground.

The man way- circa 1880's. 10' ladders from the surface all the way down to the water table at around 500'.

A 30' section of old one cart track and timbers we had to traverse. There was about a 25' chasm under this. Not a good place to be clumsy!IMG_20160910_160052149.jpg
More graffiti. This is about 450' down, just above the water table.IMG_20160910_163654633.jpg
This is a traverse on a couple of 2" pipes above a cave in. 20' fall below this one.

True, but you're only 1/2 an hour from that beautiful ass camping spot so I'd say you're still winning.

35's, new suspension, and I'll get a new one as soon as someone buys my rear. I'm also putting the front out there too

    That's what I was thinking.
I'm thinking more about this sas thing. What do you think of the all pro 3 link kit? Nice that it's a kit but that's a fuckton of $ to drop for only 12" of travel. Aren't you getting 24"+?

True, but you end up with a much wider stance. Not good on narrow shelf roads.
