What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Haven't posted in this thread for a while but just installed a 30" Rigid Industries Radiance light bar in my lower grille

 

They were called Utotem....until 1984. They had a kooky totem pole thing on their signage. You just missed it, lol.

What kind of switch are you running to control the backlighting and the full on LEDs?

 

They were DAIRY MART in Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana before becoming Circle K. I think they were a number of smaller chains bought up and "conglomerated" into a larger chain for increased purchasing power/decreased administrative cost.

 

I checked it with a meter when I installed one for my USB power ports, and it checks out. Easy enough to go under there and flip them, but whatever...

 

Seconded. Lower fuse terminal is the hot one, confirmed with multi-meter.

I'm pretty sure that if you remove the fuse, no power gets through on a fuse tap.

 

Installed Opt-7 LED headlights yesterday!

If you're up against what I think your up against, there is a sheet metal cover up under there that you can remove with just a bolt (I seem to remember) and gain access to the whole thing, easy peasy like !

 

I haven't done anything to it... yet. But did just drop some $$$ on some black parts for the interior.

Now time to play the waiting game... ARGH.

 

Can you post a pic of the switches? If I go with Radiance bar then I would want to run the oem looking switches from air on board.

Not sure yet. They were swamped yesterday with questions and peeps trying to order, so not going to ask just yet. Figured I'd let the dust settle before I ask, if I don't get a shipping notification.

 

Looking forward to seeing your installed pics. Are you painting the instrument cluster bezels black?

 

Yeah... I think eventually I'll take a crack at trying to pull those off to pain. Have to see how installing all the other stuff goes first, since I'm a noob at this stuff, and see how confident I feel in tackling more.
