Rock Sliders 2nd to 3rd gen compatibility

Before anyone says it....I've searched and can't find a solid answer.

Does anyone know if bolt on sliders for the 05-15 models will bolt up to the third gens? I'm assuming the frames are the same, I don't really know.

 

I haven't been able to confirm this either, because I really like the Shrockworks sliders and they are about 2 hours from here, but they only have 2nd gens.

 

If they're weld on I don't see why not, just make sure to get the length measurements and compare them to your own measurements of your truck. The should sit at least a few inches back from the pinch weld, other-wise you run the risk of rubbing your tires on them especially if you go up in size. Easy to cut back the pinch weld, cutting back the sliders is a bit more challenging.

I'll let ya know how the install goes. There weren't a lot of product details on they're site, but they are local and shipped for free so if they don't fit I'll just drive em back.

I remember seeing those trail gears on Amazon. They didn't last long. If they fit I'm buying!

 

I ordered custom sliders from a local vendor and I am getting nothing but the run around and communication is almost non-existent so the trail gears look interesting. I contacted sales @ trail gear in regards to part#300145-kit to confirm compatibility on 2016. I would be interested in any first hand experience as well.

 

They are bolt on and the SOB's sent me the wrong sliders so I wont have an update for a few now. The ones ordered were supposed to be angled and I received straight sliders. I'll have to run em back and see if they have what I'm looking for. The straight sliders however would require some drilling as they don't line up quite right.

 

Will let you know. I have a set of Trail Gears being sent for powder coat, then install next week. Did a quick "test fit" at the shop and the bolt holes seem to line up. I'll probably get them welded on, but will report back when it's done. The Trail Gear website says they are compatible for 2012-2016 but I wasn't sure if the 2016 was a typo since that's the start of the new model. Hopefully it works out

 

I didn't know there were angled ones for the 2016. I've got the straight ones set to go. Incidentally, what are you planning on coating them with, or do the angled ones come pre-coated?

Hmm... maybe I'm mistaken then. When I held them up against the frame they didn't seem to line up to be bolt on only, and from what I cold find all the pics with TG sliders on tacos had angled. I'll give em another go before I go to return them, however I bought these:

The picture shows angled as well as the TG logo welded in. Not a lot of product details or info on this site, but I definitely got straight bars as well as no TG logo welded in. But based on what you linked, I think I'd just have someone weld what I got on for the price difference.

As far as coating I was gonna have them powder coated, but I think ill just finish them with a few layers of matte black paint vs the $150 to PC them.

 

The TG set I bought were in fact 2nd gen sliders despite that tool from 4Wheel parts that re assured me otherwise before painting mine.

They did fit, however I had make a couple cuts with the angle grinder before welding them on.

 

4x innovation's weld on sliders will fit both 2nd and 3rd gen models. I have a set on the way.

I had mine built. We used thicker steel than what everyone is selling.
