Exactly...NADA is right on par with what they're offering and I didn't check it but I'm sure kelley blue book is lower. But nonetheless, I'm in Louisiana at a Toyota dealer OP if you want our appraisal figure for comparison sake. I'd need the vin and pictures of the truck, I could sell you a used new body style ford.

The point is that the truck they were selling was not worth all of the money they wanted. Wayyyy to much. And that 37 number is for THE OTHER TRUCK. not mine. Try again buddy

I dont know why you think your truck would sell for much more if anymore than $33,500 on a used lot. Considering for a mere few thousand more they can go purchase the same truck brand new. Also they arent really giving you $33,500, its a numbers game. They are over allowing on trade to sell you a new vehicle. But you want more money AND you want them to come down more on a new truck? Good luck. Theres a reason I work for a Ford dealer and I drive a Tacoma instead of a F150 fx4 ecoboost. And its not because of that hideous chrome grille on the Tacoma.

I owned a 4.6 Tundra in 2011 and it hunted for gears all the time. It drove me crazy!
The clincher was when Simon wouldn't ride in it, he loved the Tacoma so...
It got traded in for my 2013 TRD OR.

Thank you for your comment! I'm almost positive that they will sell it to me for what I asked. And after your comment I don't know if I want it.

I live in hilly Vermont with lots of secondary roads.
To travel to my mom's it was 2 lane highway mostly 40-55 mph.
It seemed it wouldn't hold gear, is that what you remember? It didn't get better with break-in.
Since I did this trip a few times a month (about 75 miles one way), it shifted a lot on the trip.
Highway 60+ was no problem. I really wanted to like the 4.6 also the mileage was the same as my taco. 17-18.
It did tow way better than my Tacoma. My favorite trans was in my Tundra 4.7L (2004), it shifted like butter.
That was the BEST truck wish I kept it :(
So I hope you get the deal you want, the Tundra is a nice truck other than that

Trade In means you don't have the burden of having to sell it and can expect to trade in value to be less cause they have to make money. That's why when you go to http://www.kbb.com/ Kelly Blue Book, they give you a Trade In Estimate and Private Party Estimate as much more in value. Actually the Ford F150 has been interesting to me mainly because of the Ecoboost and alot more cabin room. I do have friends with problems and issues with the Ford already so in the long run, I like my dependable Tacoma and size overall..

OP, you ever hear that you lose $$$$$ as soon as you drive a new one off the lot? Well guess what it is true and even Tacomas are affected. Not sure why you want to sell a vehicle with less than 10k on the ODO unless you really don't like it and can afford to take the financial hit. If you are in a state with sales tax on vehicles the hit is even larger.

NADA* trade-in for my truck is over $1,000 more than what I paid for it. If you got taken to the cleaners when you negotiated your original price, you'll get taken to the cleaners on trade-in too. I can sell mine outright and make $2,500-$3,000 more than what I paid.

    Good Luck OP.

    Steve

*looked up NADA, not KBB. We use NADA in new england.

    Heard that before..

If you'd actually listed it for sale you'd be in for a reality check.

Sold my 2015 WRX for $500 more than NADA value. I respect your opinion, but I have always sold my cars for at or near book values.

I didn't mean selling for more than the arbitrary number spewed out by an internet window.

Did you sell it for $500 more than what you paid for it new?

Sold it for ~$1400 less than what I paid for it after a year and a half and 28,000 miles on it.

    Ok.. so you didn't profit.

My point was and is, if you think you can sell your Tacoma right now and make more than what you paid for it brand new because NADA says so, then you're in for some disappointment.

I will stop after this, because I do get your point, but I never said I got more than what I paid for it when I sold it. Given the 28,000 miles, and the fact that it was 18 months later, I did profit. My cost per mile/depreciation was almost non existant at $1,400. NADA book value holds pretty strong up here in New England for "clean" cars. Rusty cars are a different ball park altogether. I negotiated $2,000 off of MSRP on my TRD Off-Road without any trades. That would make up for the majority of my "profit".

    Regards,

    Steve
