2017 Long Bed on hold?

I bet the dealership doesn't have one in allocation and is gonna string you along until they get one allocated

 

My TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB T&P w/JBL was ordered on 8/8, built on 9/7, delivered to port on 9/19 and delivered to the dealer around 9/26.

 

Nice truck. Is it on a lift

 

I doubt it since the dealership gave me the "raw" Toyota build sheet, with Temporary VIN etc. They said it was already allocated to them for a mid September delivery.

 

makes me want to open my sunroof more often

 

What does this have to do with the long bed? Short bed trucks have sunroofs also

 

I think it has to do with the DCLBOR w/ Premium Tech Package, aka 'The Unicorn'.

I know, just sunroofs in general, which can also be included on the long beds. Pretty much a DCLB is rare on the assembly line. If you get P&T DCLB then it's gonna be a while.

 

I ordered exactly the same truck, down to the JBL, at the beginning of august. It's being delivered today or tomorrow. Didn't hear anything about any extra delay. Ordered mine in Ft. Collins, CO.

 

I had the unicorn build 2016 sport 4x4 dclb with jbl. Waited way too long. I have a feeling dclb with jbl is more in demand than toyota planned for and they only make so many. I waited 6 months for mine

 

Was it a order; or was the truck already "assigned" to the dealership?

 

It was a special order but the dealer did have allocation for it. They can't order without allocation though. Each dealer only gets so many allocated vehicles. They fill those slots with either special orders or stock vehicles to fill their lot with. If they want to get something that isn't allocated they have to get it from another dealer either by trading or purchasing. I'm a tech at a dealership. Not a Toyota dealer but I think it's pretty much the same everywhere, though I could certainly be wrong.

 

I feel your pain. Mine is supposed to be in today......supposed to be. When the key is in my f'ing hand I'll believe it.

 

Did you get your truck? 2017?
Any order details as to when you ordered and received it? I am trying to get some info from my dealership.

 

Sales Manager ordered mine on 6/30. It was built last week, should be in my hands next week. Off Road DCLB.

 

I'm so jelly of all you people waiting a month or having your truck on the lot. Mine has been on order since June and is not scheduled to be build till 10/8 in Taxas.

Now I have to call about this "delay" :/

 

Ordered 9/2
"your truck has been allocated with a tentative build date 10/15"
"it's usually about 3 weeks after that we see the vehicle"

I was told typically 6-8 weeks for ordering and receiving

 

Mine showed up on the 15th. I ordered it on 8/4. inferno t/p packs , dclb, w/JBL. I haven't been able to go pick it up yet but it's here. I will be going to pick it up this Thursday 9/22. The dealer sent me some pics, which gave me painful erection lasting much more than 4 hours.
