    Hi all,

In the market for a new or used 2016 Tacoma and have a question on the packaging. I would like to purchase the JBL upgraded sound system. Does the Premium and Technology Package come with the JBL System or is that still a separate item? It's really kind of confusing and I don't trust the dealer to steer me straight. Thanks in advance everyone.

Does the "Non JBL" come with a subwoofer? Is it a decent sounding system?

No, the Non JBL does not come with a sub.

As for sound, it is very subjective.

Asking people if it sounds good will never really get you any good input. Some say yes, some say no. It depends on the person.

The best thing to do is go down and listen to them and decide if the cost of the JBL is worth the sound output.

I hear ya man. The issue I am having is I can't find a TRD Sport with the JBL system in the Omaha, NE metro area.

None of the stock options sound decent, IMO. Best to save the JBL money and put it into an install. It's easier to install aftermarket to a non-JBL.

Worst case scenario you have to order the truck and wait a few months. Best thing to do is find out exactly what you want, tell the dealer/salesman and they will locate the exact truck at another dealer and make a trade to get it for you. Oh because you're looking to buy now I would make sure and buy a 2017.

I was thinking 16 just because of the price difference. Is there any advantage to the 2017?

They might of worked out a lot of the bugs and maybe, just maybe, filled the transmission all the way up with fluid.

I'm not aware the price changed. You buy a 17 because it will depreciate less when you drive it off the lot. Vehicles depreciate based on year model not when you buy them, so when you sell or trade in the truck you'll get 500-1000 more because its considered an entire year newer.

Power rear sliding window on TRD OR/Sport/Limited. And I would agree if you are going new may as well get a 2017. Mine should be here in 2 weeks and I went with the TRD OR/Tech w/o JBL. We have the JBL in our T4R Limited and as others noted the money can be spent much better on an aftermarket setup IMO...

I may be wrong (usually am) but I do not think you can get JBL in a Sport?

    Access cab or 4 door?

Everyone I built on-line would only allow the base system, even with the TECH package.

That could be a regional thing. I don't believe JBL is offered on the access cab.
