Hi all. I had my wheels rotated by the dealer today, and additionally had a nail hole repaired in one of the tires. When I left the dealer, I noticed the front driver's side tire (the original position of the leaky tire) was up to 40 psi when the rest were the usual 29 psi, but when I checked it with a manual gauge, it was fine. So I checked the rear driver's tire (the actual tire that was repaired and rotated to the back) to make sure the gauge was fine, and that one was 40 psi. Confused, I started bleeding it down and checking the TPMS display, and sure enough the front driver's side pressure dropped in sync.

So, it appears they swapped the TPMS wiring for those 2 wheels somehow. I don't feel like going back to the dealer for such a minor issue - is it an easy fix?

After hitting the button, you'll also need to drive continuously for at least 10 minutes above 25mph in order for the tpms system to determine the positioning of the sensors.

They need to reprogram the ECU for the rotation... you can hit the reset button down by your left knee take the truck for a ride and get up to 70mph and IF they reprogrammed the ECU it will reset no problem... if not you have to go back to the dealer get the 5th tire added into the ECM and reset and drive it at highway speed.

Read your manual! It has everything you need to know about resetting the TPMS.

    Yep.

Also, make sure your tires are at the pressure you want them at first. The tpms will use the current pressure as its baseline for 'fully inflated'
