I also have a manual and get around. There certainly some areas where an auto would help, but other areas where I think the manual is better. Tahuya is a place that caters to all levels and offers you things that will be as challenging as you are up for, including taking your truck swimming and killing the engine like @Benson X, or blowing out your rear diff like @penguins_cc. Liberty and Gallagher lake I thought were easy enough, but offered some challenges that you could mostly get around if you don't feel up for it. If you aren't ready to take your own truck out for abuse yet, see if you can ride shotgun with somebody else to get a feel for wheeling.

As well as wheelers bumpstops for front and rear and the extended brake lines. Kinda pissed I ordered the brake lines when I bought my dakars but since it was cold and rainy I thought I'd install them during the summer. Well now I can't find them :angrygirl:so here's another 60 bucks fml

I have eliminated the stock 4wd switch and will be filling that spot with a DPDT switch when it gets here.

You might be able to tweak that back into line with a porta-power (hydraulic tool for applying force).

Borrow at least 1 if not 2 vacuum pumps! If you get a bubble up to the master, it's very hard to get it to burp.

Or just be smart and check it every 5 pumps or so :) Or better yet have a second person watch the MC and top it off as you pump. Only time Ive run a MC dry is when i did it intentionally on the FJ40.

By the way if someone is looking for rear brake lines I have three 24" long ones (think thats the length at least...its for a +3" lift or so) I got from the group buy guy on here. One might be messed up which is why i have three (two are unused). I picked up wheelers ones since i needed a replacement sooner than i could get so these have been sitting on the dining room table. Ill make a pretty good deal on them to someone whose still in the building phase of their truck. Just feeling like helping out someone newer to off-roading :)

When I did mine, I didn't do a good job of corking the line after I got the old ones off, and a bubble ran up the line and it was a bitch to bleed out. Took a full pint plus!
Maybe it was a one time thing.

The loss of up travel is determined by a couple of factors, not the shackle flip itself. The length of your shocks and how your bump stops are set are the main factors. It's hard to do much about shock length when you keep the factory shock location. I'm still in the process of relocating my rear shocks. Depending on if you stick with a stock length shackle or go with a longer shackle, you may actually gain up travel by lifting the truck via the shackle.

With the shackle flip the leaf spring is at a fully lengthened position rather than pressed together (eye to eye) like in the stock position. The stock position while ideal for up travel can hinder down travel. Spring rate will also determine up travel by how quickly it will go to negative arch. Leaf packs with added leafs will provide a stiffer spring rate before it goes to negative. Also, the kit I went with uses a standard style shackle, not the OEM shackle like other kits. The stock shackle is shit when doing a shackle flip.

I haven't noticed any difference in "weight capacity". Rear leaf springs are rated just like coil springs for coil overs. Like @AWilson013 has said before, it doesn't matter if its a 13" 600lb coil or a 14" 600lb coil, its still a 600lb coil. Same would go for leaf springs. It doesn't matter how the rear leaf spring is mounted it still has the same spring rate, not losing any weight capacity. I've been loaded up with my RTT, gear underneath, boat in tow, and 3 people including myself with just a little sag on the dakars but still sitting level. I have 1/2" of difference between front and rear ride heights, higher in the back, measured from hub fender.

The ass end really flexes a lot better and keeps tires on the ground, compared to the inverted stock location IMO. I like it.

Hmmm interesting. When I did mine they just kept gravity draining but only a drop or two every second or so. id just broke both the upper and lower joints loose and had the old brake line out in hardly anytime and the new one in shortly there after.

Though I know other people have had issues so who knows.
