Are these OEM lower ball joints?

 

So how do I go about fitting the k&n intake tube to my stock box set up?

 

Hard to tell from that picture. Look at the surfaces the bolt heads tighten against and where the OTRE attached. On an OEM joint these are nicely machined as opposed to cast like inferior joints.

Also, looks like bolts were reused, that's another big source of failure. Get some new bolts in there.

 

Just got it back from the shop last week and they are supposed to be OEM. Look different to me tho, don't remember the boot looking like that.

 

That's because 01-04s have a dust boot that goes around the LBJ boot. It covers parts of the bolts too.

Not sure. But you can buy an airaid modular intake tube and do just that. Much cheaper than a hot air intake

 

For guys that have busted up their steering racks and LBJs before, what's the most amount of play you've driven with?

just got my tg low profile front bumper, gonna mount it tomorrow and probably mock up some plates for the top. just hoping this thing doesnt stick out so much, Ive seen pictures of it hanging over way more than id like

 

It surprised me in a bad way...

 

Most bumpers stock out. Winches aren't small.

I'm just gonna buy a new set, sadly. Don't know what kind yet but I don't feel like I can go 33" yet. Which sucks, a bunch.

 

Why can't you fit 33s? I thought you were lifted?

 

My fronts only maybe barely like 1/2" over stock, maybe, at least I think. I'd just crank my coil overs up but I haven't bought ucas yet and if I'm gonna drop the money on 33s I wanna be sure everything is lined up so the wear good.


And I might get a good price on some brand new, studded 31's, which I would only run for the winter hopefully giving my enough to get ready for 33's.

 

If I was you, and you only blew one tire, id just get a used tire and sit on those until you get it lifted shouldn't be long right?

One of my other tires has a little bubble in the side wall too, so it's just a matter of time.

 

Ah well in that case do what you see fit. Do you wheel this thing hard or do your tires just suck?

 

I'm just sayin.. what if you could shake your steering rack back n forth a half inch?!? Lol... that's not thaaaat much, right?
