She looks good man, sad to see her go. So what did the dealer agree to for a new truck?

Well I have been talking to 2 dealers one has a Super White with Tech no JBL @ $38,834 OTD @ $29,998 @ $452 per month and the other dealer has the Magnetic Gray with tech w/JBL TRD Pro skid plate, bed step, mudguards and bed mat @ $40,507 MSRP OTD @ $29,055.... @ $433 per month both with my trade-in....

The only issue is I am not warming up to the Orange dash trim on the Magnetic Gray and they are doing everything they can to make that deal work. I went and look again at the Black w/Orange interior and its going to be a tough one. I will see what they say today when I say "the orange is just not wowing me right now"...

Trying to get an idea for what you guys in the area are mostly going with, looking at skids and sliders?

For those who have shells/toppers leer or ARE which do you prefer and did you upgrade to Dakars or similar?

I really want to distribute the weight and plan on adding more with all the gear for camping and possibly a rear swingout bumper.

When is the next get together either off road or at a brewery?

Wow man I need to look at tacos more often...didn't know they had orange interior with a metallic gray exterior. I def would prefer a different color combo as well. You don't by chance have any pics of the trucks you are talking about or links to them? It sounds like you have a decent debate of which one to get...would be curious of the two I would pick if I saw them. Either way good luck with what you decide.

I actually like the color but knowing myself if I end up not warming up to it I will be somewhat disappointed

I went with some demello sliders who makes them pretty wide so that I might prevent dinging on my doors and have some function for offroad, but I hear many are happy with the sliders from mobtown who is local in Baltimore! Actually they are doing my front bumper in a few months when they are available for it. Im not familiar with skids so I cant help ya there. I have seen many go with the EMU dakars and it seems like a sound set up that can take a load and they are pretty modestly priced. Fatfurious has a new bling swing out rear bumper with some dakars and a topper so he can chime in better, but they def seem up to the task.

As far as the next get together...good question! Im ready for another rear build day as Im eager for some more learning...drinking...

Ah now I see...hmmm man that orange really does seem out of place for that color. My next question would be, do you plan to one day put sliders on the truck or would you be happy with the steps that are currently on it? Considering it sounds like you get more of a deal with extras on the metallic anyway (I prefer gray/black vehicles), I would probably still go with the metallic as you can sell out the extras if you want and still get the better deal. We could always have a build day and remove your dash and repaint that...or if you want white again and might go sliders then go the super route. I think at this point color should be your first factor, dash can be changed.

The more I wrench on stuff, the more I learn about the vehicle! I havnt had the opportunity to work on a rear end at all so that would be cool to learn about and I know a few here are getting ready to add some stuff...

Yeah I have thought about getting a black or gun metal trim piece or even having it hydro dipped carbon fiber @ this point I think it has just come down to color both trucks have a lot of promise....

I agree, considering they are both on opposite ends of the spectrum color wise now comes the color decision. Any mods in mind after you get the third gen?

I have RCI front and LCA skids, Mobtown sliders, and Dakars in the rear. Along with Pelfrey hybrid front bumper, and Bruteforcefab high clearance rear bumper with swingout.

Im looking forward to going to Flagpole for a day trip or an overnight.

Well I did sell the topper so that will pay for the Leer fiberglass tonneau cover with $200 hundred, Redline hood struts, remote start and dash cam that's all....I'm not going to go crazy as its to hard to recover those costs.

Well that sounds solid man! I would be interested in your dash cam set up as I was thinking about investing in one. On a side note, I just had a 30 min discussion with Lance, the owner over at Iron Pig in Fredericksburg. A very humble guy and he thinks my rear should take a little less than a day's worth. Thanks again ChiefCrunchy for the recommendation as Lance is very aware of shock relocations and spring unders as this is their forte. With that being said, if anyone wants to hang out in the Fredericksburg area in about 3 weekends when I get my rear done let me know!

Isn't the dash color supposed to match the exterior color on the '16's? Something seems sketchy about that

It is an option with the Premium technology pack to get this combo I think this truck was ordered by someone and something happened with the deal... They are giving the truck away @ almost $5K under invoice and maybe losing hold back money.

If that is the case, that sounds like a win win over some orange on the dash that can be altered.

Any pics of the gentex? How hard to install? Does it have homelink? I wouldn't mind getting rid of the
Are either of these TRD packages? I didn't see if they were anywhere. That orange looks like my kid went crazy with his crayons in there. I would definitely have to cover that. The mag gray one with the extras, all those extras can be had probably pretty easily. Probably for cheap as take offs from others on the forums. I like the mag color though, always been one of my favorites.
