I know man...this guy makes us all look weak. I'm @ 1105 and feel like a baby back bitch!

Excess anything is stored as fat. It doesn't matter if 100% of your calories come from protein, if you're in a surplus you're gonna store fat. My reasoning for 1.5g/lb is just because I'd rather eat protein over carbs or fat b/c I like protein foods better.

Zach is speaking in the "theoretical extremes" that he mentions at the end of the article.

I only take two scoops of protein powder a day, post workout, when eating real food would make me yak. If you don't feel like you're gonna puke after you lift, you aren't lifting hard enough! It takes me at least 20-30 minutes before I can eat solid food again. I also can't eat solid food for at least 2 hours before I lift, or I am in danger of yakking mid-lift. All my other protein (roughly 200 grams) comes from real food. I eat a shit ton of grilled and rotisserie chicken (the hole in the wall el salvadorian or peruvian places). Eggs every morning. Venison for a couple of meals a week. Lots of cheap ground beef. Every now and then I will mix it up with some buffalo or ostrich.

I've been in a hotel for work the last 3 days. Crushed a whole loaf of bread in a couple days just trying to get my carbs in because I dont want donuts, pizza, or whatever else they are serving. Also, 1600 lb club is heavy. I am shooting for 1200 and cant imagine lifting 1600 unless I pack on some serious lbs haha. I am currently right around 180 lbs.

I usually mix 1 scoop with uncooked oats in the morning with 1% milk and eat it cold like cereal. Then I do the same thing with about 1/2 scoop pre workout just to get something in my stomach pre-workout. Then 1 scoop post workout. So, 2.5 scoops per day total. So, roughly 60-65g per day from powder. No clue how many grams I eat in a day. I know that I maintain weight pretty well and if I start to dip or gain, I just adjust portions accordingly. I don't really bulk or cut. Just 'clean bulk' I guess.

And of course mix in cheat meals and beer on weekends. Last time I had my body fat checked (only time actually) was at 11.5% at 180 lbs and 5'9".

Forgot to tell you bros that the wife and I took 1-yr anniversary pics in our wedding attire yesterday. Suit still fit great. What's awesome is I was 180 lbs last Sept when we got married and now I'm 197 (as of this morning) and it still fit great, albeit a little snug in the shoulders/chest

Also, what do you early morning bros eat before the gym? I've said it before, but I am not a morning person at all. I wake up at 6 and am lifting by 6:25. I can't really eat anything heavy that early, so I've been eating either a banana, a pop tart, or chugging an orange juice on the way to the gym just to get some quick carbs in. Curious as to what everyone else does. I was gonna try to pound a shake beforehand, but it's just too early for that shit. I'd puke.

For me it's a Krispy Kreme donut and half a scoop of Hyde every morning before the gym.

C4/Spike and scoop of powdered gatorade is all I do before the gym in the morning. Then eat 6 eggs immediately after.

I dipped Cope Wintergreen for 13 years before I quit 2 years ago - after my first year of law school. Probably the hardest thing I have ever done. I still get cravings.
