Bateman usually comes in on severe mop up duty. Typically run the ball. He is really fast on his feet.

Hurts has a freaking cannon attached to his shoulder. If he can keep his freshmaning in check, I stick with him. He could be special.

I agree. I suppose I am having difficulty not being excited about Barnett.

That's for damn sure. I'm excited for Dormandy/ Guarantano battle next year. Guarantano was the #1 dual threat from last years recruiting class. Guy is an athlete

Derwin James out 5-7 weeks. Tough one to lose for FSU, especially late against Charleston Southern.

And USF game in week 4 is a noon kick, so 3 noon kicks in a row.

The UGA/Ole Miss game is a noon kick. What the hell?

And...might have access to the bama/FSU kickoff game next season. Not a fan of either team, but you can bet your ass I'll head to the new Dome to watch it.

I might try to make my way to that game. I haven't gone to any of the big opening games we've played, but that one looks like fun.

It also looks like a bit of a departure from Alabama's usual M.O... Scheduling big-name schools that don't really have the talent to beat us: Wisconsin, USC (these days), Va Tech, etc. FSU is a legit playoff hopeful. It feels like it could be a tougher game than we're used to.

The 2017 schedule overall looks good, though... No back-to-back road games. Ole Miss, Arky, Tennessee and La State all at home, and (as usual) a non-game before the Iron Bowl. Plus we get Vandy as the rotating SECE team. It could be a good season...

    • Florida State (ATL)
    • Fresno State
    • Colorado State
    • @ Vanderbilt
    • Ole Miss
    • @ TAMU
    • Arkansas
    • Tennessee
    • OFF
    • La State

As of right now, this looks like a really favorable schedule, after FSU. Really get to tune up the team, and gear up for the SEC portion.

Ehh, sometimes that's the way they fall. For whatever reason, they scheduled the game this weekend at noon during pre-season, but it's a top 10 match up and Gameday is there (we beat out ND vs. Mich St. and Okla vs. Ohio St.)

I think we had like 2 noon kicks last year and I don't remember any 2 years ago...

I'm hoping to make it out to that one as well. That's a playoff caliber game. (Hoping to see round 1 in Tampa at the end of this season though ).

I've been saying that for years and it's genius scheduling. Put a big name school on your schedule, but one that doesn't have the talent they had at one point. Makes you look really good and doesn't have to be a top 10 match-up. I also enjoy the neutral site games, but wish they would bring some of these teams to Doak and do home and homes...

We have Boise St. in 2019 and 2020, which I think is terrible scheduling... not a ton to gain for us and nothing to lose for them. Kind of like Houston and Oklahoma this year...

I dont mind noon games. I think they should schedule at least one big time matchup early. Otherwise, you end up watching a top 5 team trounce an unknown, and that's no fun.

Question: why is Miami going TO Boone to play App St this weekend?

I'm going into my 6th football season at LSU and to my knowledge we've only had 1 noon kick vs. Kentucky in 2011

Would love to see App State beat the canes.

I hate noon games, seemed like Richt tried to get every game a noon kickoff time. Really sucks if you are going to the game.

I hate when our game is a 12:00 but this time it works for me. I was fully expecting a prime time for this game but I guess our pitiful performance last week had to be the culprit.

As for the game time, that night me wife wants us to go to a concert and we rarely get out anymore like this so I figured we be fighting. So the noon time works out for me.

Why is it that so many activities have to take place in the fall? So much of the time we tend to live a boring life. Let football start and my wife wants to go do this and go do that. :annoyed:
